I just finished reading In Memoriam by Alice Winn and completely fell in love with the characters, writing style, everything about it. 5/5 would highly recommend this book! The beauty of Gaunt's and Ellwood's relationship unfolding alongside the brutality of the war – I can't even describe the ying-yang feelings this conjured up inside me.
I also couldn't help but picture Edvin Ryding as Ellwood. His description just fit him so well.
There were also so many similarities I found between Ellwood and Wille. Both coming from high class society, going to boarding schools, being queer, having a soft spot for poetry, quick to anger and acting impulsively when backed into a corner, their sensitivity, how they'd do anything for their partner. I could go on. And once again find myself having absolutely no one to talk to about this! So this will just have to live in a random corner of the internet where I can express my thoughts.
