I’ve been on tumblr for almost 13 years and I refuse to know what homestuck is about

The thing that amazes me is that I've been on tumblr for ages and dashboard osmosis has conveyed absolutely nothing to me about Homestuck whatsoever.

There are whole episodes of Supernatural that I've seen in their entirety through gifsets. I don't even know what sort of a thing Homestuck is or where I would find it. I know less about what happens in Homestuck, which presumably actually exists, than what happens in Goncharov, which doesn't.

I spend hours every day on tumblr. I don't know how this is possible.

2. disboard is a great place to find to find rp servers, so is tumblr “look up *insert fandom* rp” and you’ll probably find one. if not, make one! i’m sure you have friends who want to join

i’m the person who puts politics into art. every work of art (every movie, book, tv show, video game, etc) is created apolitically and then they hire me as a consultant to put politics in. and then i put in the politics, and then it is published with the politics in it. and everyone just has to suffer because it makes me money.

Liberals love panicking about problems they reject any and all dramatic action on. “Climate change is scary but you know what’s also scary? Seizing oil assets and forcing an immediate transition to more renewable energy sources.” So we let the problem get worse forever but feel sad about it? Ok.

Liberalism is the melancholy of the status quo. It’s a perspective that recognizes that there are deep seated problems in our society, but it cannot do more than gawk at them because resolving those problems would undo the basis for their comforts and status in a world divided by class and nationality among other characteristics.

Liberalism cannot help but gasp at the horrors their beloved status quo inflicts upon the world but why stop suffering when your empire profits from suffering? Tears and emotional appeals may make for good public relations propaganda but it’s bad for business to take seriously what that sadness necessitates we do in response.
