Michelle | 40's | She/Her | Admin at the SPNFanFicPond | OxfordCommaLover on AO3 | Winsexual (John & Henry, too!) but angel-curious | Tag me in your fics! I reblog SPN fan fiction (some is NSFW) and write a little of my own | Fibromite, TV addict, amateur blogger, nerd-adjacent, nearly crazy cat lady married to a Swede with an unpronounceable last name. **You have blanket permission to use my photos in your fic headers, etc! Just tag or DM me to let me know!**

Stuff I do

Writing Masterlist:

Instead of having a long masterlist in a Tumblr post, where you can't find what you want because it's organized in a away that works for someone else, I put my masterlist into a Google spreadsheet that you can filter! Instructions for how to do that are in the first tab, the Masterlist itself is in the second.

As this is new format for most folks, I'll understand if you have questions! Please drop them into my ask box and I'll do what I can to help!

You can also find all of my stories, and ONLY my stories, on my library blog: @mrswhozeewhatsiswrites or on my AO3 Works List.

Challenges and Writing Projects:

Photography:

My photos can be found on my photography blog: @mrswhozeewhatsisphoto!

I'm an admin over at the Pond, working to help support other writers of fanfic and all kinds of writing! Check us out, give us a follow, and then join, because membership has its privileges!

I help out with the back end stuff like workshopping topic ideas and posting recap/announcement posts. There's some great stuff being discussed in this podcast!

@spnfanartpond Admin (coming soon)

We're working towards creating a similar environment for artists as the SPNFanFicPond currently encourages for writers! If you know of any artists who would like to be a part of this, let me know!

Monthly subscribers ($3 because what you get really isn't that much) get early access to all of my writing, and exclusive photos not posted anywhere else (at least one a month).

A co-worker of mine was standing outside with me during a break from customers to share a cigarette with me, and told me about how he had lost his brother that he was close with some years ago. He told me about how they used to be in a band together with some friends, and how ever since he'd died, he hadn't played any music because he'd been too scared and anxious. I told him about how I'd lost my brother to suicide some years ago.

I went home and pulled out an old tiny wooden box my brother had given me before he'd died. I'd been using it to store guitar picks I'd collected over the years, including one guitar pick that used to be his. I haven't played the guitar since he'd died, my hands are too small to play some of the chords, so I play bass and piano instead.

I went to work the next day and gifted my brothers old guitar pick to my co-worker. I told him that it'd been sitting in a box for ten years unused, and would probably sit there for longer if I kept it there. Told him that I thought he deserved to have it, because I bet he could put it to better use than I ever would. Told him I didn't feel like it was coincidence that me and him would cross paths with each other in our lives, and that it seemed suiting that we had these similar experiences but split in two halves. That somehow, I felt like he was meant to have the guitar pick. I told him that I knew he'd not played guitar since his brother died, but that if he ever decided to play again one of these days, maybe he'd be able to honor both of our brothers by using that guitar pick.

He almost cried. He thanked me. Then he went home that night and for the first time in years he played the guitar.

I don't know what the meaning of life is or what my purpose is, but I do believe that love and human connection is one of the most important things in life. It's finding ways to tell strangers you love them and share experiences with others. I think it's all just about love.

for people who can’t watch the video: THE AMYGDALA CHANGES TRADITIONALLY FOUND IN MOTHERS SHOW UP IN ALL PRIMARY CAREGIVERS REGARDLESS OF SEX

Changes in this part of the brain were previously used to previously used to argue that women are the ideal primary caretakers of children in all cases. And apparently, it’s false. The reason they found these changes in women was that women were already the primary caretaker in almost all cases, not because there’s something inherent to women that makes them better parents.

this is big news for SAHF and single dads!

This is also big news for adoptive parents and queer couples! Many people try to argue that adoptive parents aren't real parents because of biology and blah blah blah. Bigots will also argue this case against queer people. So, to all my traditionalists: it's not science! It's bigotry and sexist!

According to the company’s website, “Baking Pitchfest 2024” offers a product edition geared toward baking brands founded and owned by people of color across the U.S., and a bakery edition, which focuses on people of color-owned bakeries in the Northeast and Washington state. “Half mentorship, half competition, Baking Pitchfest is an accelerator program designed to foster greater inclusivity and creativity in the baking world by providing equitable opportunities for People of Color entrepreneurs,” the website states, adding that winners will receive financial support, mentorship, and exposure. But the initiative has generated outrage amongst conservatives online, who have blasted the competition eligibility rules as discriminatory against white people.
One X user critical of King Arthur Baking’s contest posted an email she received from the company in response to her complaining. “Helping build joyful, equitable communities that celebrate diversity is an important part of who we are as a company,” the email states, later adding: “We love baking with anyone and everyone. Our simple expectation is that everyone show respect for one another.”

Time to buy more King Arthur Flour!

You know, way too often I find articles talking about how the maker of some product I use is actually Evil. It's really nice to get the opposite.

King Arthur's gluten free box mixes are the absolute best on the market so far as I've found. Their chocolate cake mix is our birthday standard.

We actually baked for a work event once, and we had someone gluten free so we used a King Arthur's mix for them and a standard box mix for everyone else, and almost everyone universally agreed they were just better. Now we just make a couple boxes of the King Arthur's gluten free brownies and everyone likes them way better.
