as a former escape room host i highly recommend doing an escape room as a first date. its a great way to learn how ppl react under pressure and how well they collaborate with you right off the bat. also more than once ive seen people enter an escape room as a couple and exit broken up LOL its a fantastic litmus test

sorry to broadcast ur tags but this is also a valuable part of the litmus test! it seems like you learned a lot about how this person makes you feel in their social group. they didn't go out of their way to include you, and neither did their friends. therefore you can come to a pretty good conclusion about how you might feel being part of their life outside of an escape room; someone who doesnt include you or your feelings in a game is likely going to do the same in other situations

one time a ranger 1 (so not law enforcement) at the state park where i worked was getting rid of a bunch of clothes so he put them all in garbage bags and dropped them off at the bunkhouse where all the seasonal employees lived and he said we could go through them before he donated them and we all took a tshirt or two and then a month later we were throwing a party and I was like "we should all wear his clothes to the party" and he came in and it took him like an hour and five drinks to suddenly be like "wait a minute.................."

i should've noted that our parties always had dress-up themes (pirate night, cowboy night, etc.) and he'd texted me and asked what the theme was for this one and i told him "just dress as yourself."

slightly more serious less flippant version of my post from yesterday: whether you ar doing so from a point of pro- or anti- nintendo or video games it is so silly to talk about whether 'video games are more expensive now' 'video games have always been this expensive' when what you're talking about is exclusively big-money titles that you're buying on release day at full price. that's not "video games". that's "video games made for current-gen hardware by activision/nintendo/EA/etc". its like saying "Movies nowadays all have Iron Man in them"

many of the best video games of all time are made by one weird trans girl and available for free Free on itch.io. many more are made by two autistic finnish guys and available on steam for like $10. the "video gamse used to be even more expensive adjusting for inflation" thing is only true about usamerican kids who were playing the new nintendos at the time, to me as a kid "video games" were like ~$8 from a guy with a cd burner or when i was slightly older like $20 for three from the second-hand ps2 games bin. like its like when people make sweeping statments on Movies and they exclusively mean the MCU. get some fuckin perspective on the medium god damn

I feel like a description of this phenomenon could be used very effectively to make an organism on an alien planet feel eerie and uncanny, and yet it happens routinely right here on earth.

even more awe inspiring: this phenomenon is an emergent property of each individual bird in the swarm following a few very simple rules, like "stay so close to these other birds around me."

“I’ve really tried to understand the Israelis. I used to work on a farm in Israel. I speak Hebrew. I watch their news. All the time they talk about fear. How they have to run to their bunkers to hide from the rockets. How their children can’t sleep because of the sirens. This is not a good way for them to live. We Palestinians don’t talk about fear, we talk about death. Our rockets scare them; their rockets kill us. We have no bomb shelters, we have no sirens, we have nowhere we can take our children and keep them safe. They are scared. We are dying.”

You take the blue Eggman MDMA pill (158.4 mg), the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red Eggman MDMA pill (162.8 mg), you stay in Eggmanland, and I show you just how meddlesome that hedgehog is
