this is so niche but I believe I've just peaked
Fanfiction is becoming people’s primary form of entertainment right now because most media right now is so cheap, bland, recycled, and sponsored by people who love money more than the source material. Fanfiction is written for free by people who genuinely love what they’re writing about. That’s why it’s better. That’s why it’s more satisfying. Fanfiction is a home-cooked meal made for yourself and for your friends. Media today is junky fast food spoiled by too much grease and the knowledge that the people producing it are being criminally mistreated and underpaid.
FANFICTION IS A HOME-COOKED MEAL
WOW. BRO.THAT’S.
Also, we don’t try to make everything in fanfiction canon. We can explore alternate universes to our hearts’ content, but we don’t try to insist, “That’s the way it is now, and if you disagree, you’re a terrible person.”
To Caesar You Have Appealed
Chapter 4
They reached the bottom of the platform and Veers expected violent winds and heat. Then he realized that of course, this was protected from the environment by an energy barrier.
Two tech droids were standing on either side of the walkway that led to the fortress itself and Veers addressed himself to one of them.
“Is Lord Vader…?”
But that was as far as he got.
The doors at the far end of the walkway opened and a familiar tall figure strode through, cape billowing behind him as he moved toward the landing pad.
All right.
Veers supposed he shouldn’t be shocked that his Commander was going to speak to them out here. This was Lord Vader’s most private sanctum and he would not just let anyone enter for any reason.
The kish kosh of the breathing mask sounded louder and Veers straightened to attention beside Piett’s grav sled. The Captain could not do the same, but that chin tilted up and he saw Piett’s shoulders square a little on the pillows.
(Peter Wimsey voice) Let's get something out of the way. I know I look and sound like I personally know Bertie Wooster. I know that my entire mien is that of a devoted attendee of his gentleman's club. I know. Unfortunately I am the smartest person in a ten mile radius and there's been a murder.
“I—I'm afraid it's ridiculous of me to suppose you can help me," she began.
"Always my unfortunate appearance," moaned Lord Peter, with such alarming acumen as to double her discomfort. "Would it invite confidence more, d'you suppose, if I dyed my hair black an' grew a Newgate fringe? It's very tryin', you can't think, always to look as if one's name was Algy.”
—Dorothy L. Sayers, The Unprincipled Affair of the Practical Joker
I know Vader isn't walking with Piett here. But it's so perfect for a scene I'm writing now in my WIP, so we're going with it being Piett.

Duel Of The Fates
Chapter 11
And a Commander Wolffe was assigned to Master Plo. He was stern and unsmiling, but there was an air of competence about him that Firmus trusted.
But…
“Master Windu?” Firmus asked, moving to the tall Jedi. “I believe you forgot me, sir.”
And Windu exchanged a look over his head with Master Plo.
“No, young Piett, I did not.”
Firmus’s breathing increased and he felt a little numb.
“I…am not certain I understand,” he said, trying not to sound like a panicked child. The others were leaving the room to go and review the divisions and begin working with them immediately.
“Come with me,” Master Windu said, and Master Plo fell into step with them as they exited the room and strode down a corridor to a much small room—-clearly an office of some sort.
The door hissed shut behind them, leaving them in the dim light filtering through the closed blinds.
“Am I not to lead a division?” Firmus asked, looking between them.
The feel in the Force told him the answer before either of them spoke.
“No, Firmus,” Master Plo said gently. “There is something else you can do.”

I love all books but sometimes you read a book and you’re like so were all 21 thousand of you blindfolded and at gun point when you rated it 5 stars
