The toxic urge to write character x male reader fics and not mark the gender so girls have to go through what I do where they get all invested in a fic and a gendered term that doesn’t apply to them is randomly thrown in there with no warning.

Just picture it: dazai x reader first date and it’s all gender neutral until he says “you’re the first boy I’ve ever gone on a date with” in the middle. Or some “my prince” or “my handsome boy” kinda terms of endearment.

I could even still tag it male reader because fem readers don’t even have to meticulously comb through tags to avoid being misgendered, they have the privilege of assuming everything will be catered to them automatically.

I want to cause chaos. But I’m also a considerate person unfortunately so I probably won’t actually do it. Idk.
