hi! i'm nicolas (nic for short), a self-taught artist from czechia 🇨🇿

my likes vary but art remains:

art goals for 2025

  • draw a short comic (at least a full page)
  • take part in three zines or similar projects
  • learn to combine ink and watercolor effectively
  • speed up digital drawing process

stretch goals (as in "it's a stretch")

  • record art timelapses
  • increase blog followers by order of magnitude

💪 anatomy for artists 🎨

anatomie pro výtvarníky (1977) by josef zrzavý, anatomy professor.

what does one find in this 400 page book?

  • historical drawings and etchings, critiqued; notable muscles or certain proportions or whatever else we're watching out for pointed out
  • body parts from multiple angles: skelet, muscles, normal view
  • deconstruction of body types that feels just on this side of outdated science
  • 11 types of fingernails, 15 types of nose profiles etc.
  • number table of average body proportions by age
  • attempt at explaining colors using a single graph and a lot of words
  • honestly too many words
  • glossy photo appendix (for once not of a literal appendix)

prompts: papercuts, trapped, any au (tentatively called "six hundred billion and one" or 600G+1)

his extended use of kamui and izanagi sends obito into deep chakra exhaustion. konan wins their fight and drags the barely living body of her opponent somewhere secure. but the man must be defanged first... thankfully not literally. his teeth stay where they were. the same cannot be said for his eyes or obviously grafted on flesh.

watercolor markers pt. 2

faber-castell: albrecht dürer watercolour markers (16 colors & 5 grey tones)

  • these things are amazing for quick sketching
  • the red is kinda pinkish so it needs to be layered with orange/brown if i want to reach my favorite shade (vermilion)
  • no real purple :( but the desaturated dark blue (rin's shirt here) (dare i say it's cool) makes up for it
  • the little set has cool & warm graysss
  • i'm in love

  • draws in the air by infusing mist with chakra
  • has pouches full of poison and snacks, only an expert can tell the difference. she has stubbornly built immunity to all poisons she uses. her arsenal is small but potent.
  • genjutsu + hallucinogenic mist = uh oh you're in danger
  • genjutsu + hallucinogenic mist + huge ass swords to finish you with = The Dream (of one haruno sakura)
