Just realized that I never explicitly mentioned it in this blog, so here goes: I have multiple sclerosis, which means that I'm susceptible to a lot of health problems like muscle pain, inflammations, fatigue, brain fog and a bunch of other symptoms. On top of that, the treatment for it intentionally makes my immune system weaker, which means I'm more prone to getting sick.

For the past almost two months I've been mildly to severely sick, with different illnesses, one after the other, back to back. I have not been able to work on updating Traces of Spring, or any of my other projects, because I have a chronic illness that makes my life unreasonably difficult. I understand none of you have bad intentions but I'll ask that you stop asking me when I'm going to update. I don't know. Everytime I set a deadline, my body decides to play very petty and cruel games with me and I'm out of comission for 2+ weeks. In this scenario I'm going to prioritize my health instead of working on a comic none of you are paying me to do. If any of you ask me in the future, you will either be directed to this post or ignored.

after 5 years of running this blog, i've made the decision to open up a patreon!

my life circumstances are changing, and patreon will greatly help me make ends meet and pay rent. nothing about this blog will be changing - i'll still be posting a cat doodle every day, same as i always have.

i have a $3/month tier and a $6/month tier - both work as tip jars, with the latter being if you feel especially generous and can afford it.

right now i have transparent and/or higher-resolution PNGs of certain catcrumbs that i've used for redbubble up for members, if anyone wants to make emojis or such. i'll also be taking requests for drawings to be transparentized and/or put on redbubble. in the future i may start offering additional rewards - bonus art, requests, maybe physical stuff - but my life needs to settle down a bit before i do anything like that.

your money is of course yours to do with as you see fit (and there are many many good causes out there that i urge you to donate to), but i hope that if my little drawings have given you joy over the years and you have the room in your budget, you'll consider supporting me!

i also have a kofi and redbubble if you'd rather support me that way!

no matter what - i genuinely appreciate all the kindness i have been given. i try very hard to keep catcrumb a self-driven art exercise - just one cat a day, doesnt have to be perfect or even good, just has to be a cat - but i couldn't have kept up the hobby without so many people's joy. it's been a genuinely incredible experience for my silly little scribbles to have positively touched people's lives - in-jokes between friends and partners, a gentle reminder, tattoos and baby clothes, something to look forward to... it's really been a flood of human kindness.

finally making steady progress in environments after months of a lot of health problems. completed around 5-7 pages in a single day, currently working on the "double page" spread. feel really good and energized all over again and i'm finally actually feeling excited over art!

if i continue with this pace i'm hoping¹ to release chapter 11 next month¹ after a long hiatus :)

¹ hoping, as in, this is only a wish² of mine

² i also hope/wish i'll be in good health but like, i dont know³

first of all: im sorry for the sheer lenght of time it took me to reply to this, i swear tumblr desktop was not showing your asks and i was only able to see them now that im on mobile. thank you for your kind words! im glad you loved sizhao, i enjoyed creating him a lot :)

second: i do have a ko-fi, which can be found here. its an outdated page in need of reform, but its what i got. and im working on a patreon page. lets see if i can release it this month

and in response to your third ask, im not currently working on illustration comissions because my health has been somewhat frail and i dont know how much time i could devote to it. i dont want to make promises to people if im not sure i can deliver on them. i will make a post about it as soon as i can however :)

#unfortunately ive also been relentlessly attacked by demonic harpies which means i dont have energy to come here all that often
