as someone who is pro-chaggie (but also open to opinions about, and is not blind to, how shitass the only wlw ship is in the canon show), do you see a possibility of chaggie working/being "better" if viv had stuck to her initial characterization and backstory for charlie and vaggie?

as in, charlie not being so childish and spineless similar to the pilot, and vaggie being a human sinner who died via suicide instead of being an exorcist?

tbh the ship probably wouldn't exist if that were the case since Viv only made the ship to end the rumors that she cant write sapphic content, but as a fellow critic who sees potential in the ship working and likes your posts I'm curious to see your thoughts!

And that isn't to say I DON'T see the potential, there ARE ways you write them into being a couple and make the relationship work. Such as having Charlie stand up for herself more and ACTUALLY listen to people when they try to tell her something that would end badly, and have Vaggie be an ACTUAL character outside of Charlie and have her getting along with the others instead of being mean to them all the time.

But the show just really soured my view on it to where I don't ever wanna ship them and seeing the merch of them makes my blood boil compared to how it actually is in the show.

That's why in my version they just stay best friends as Vaggie was Charlie's first true friend after she experienced nothing but people pretending to be friends with her either as a joke or to get something out of her.

Listen, I love a pathetic man as much as the next guy, but wouldn't it have been cool if Vox acted like Bill Sykes from Oliver & co.?

Bone-chillingly gritty, without an ounce of warmth or humor? Compentent, doesn't fear Alastor because why would he? It raises the stakes because oh my god are the Vees super dumb. GIVE ME STAKES!!! THEY ARE SAID TO BE THE MOST POWERFUL OVERLORDS!!! MAKE THEM ACT LIKE IT!!

I love quirky & funny villains. But when every single one of your bad guys are like that it becomes boring. You have so many characters already! Atleast have some variety!

It’s funny because in the Alastor (non canon) prequel comic, Vox makes a brief appearance and he isn’t scared or intimidated by Alastor. In fact, Alastor is the one who is pissed off by Vox’s small appearance.

The Vees and by extension Alastor don’t act like overlords. Despite being in their 30s or older, they feel like a bunch of children who act like they have the upper hand but don’t. If Lucifer wasn’t in season 2, the stakes would be a tiny bit higher.

I may need to take a break from browsing critical Hellaverse spaces, not because of something serious but really because looking at the character designs unironically make me very sad. I can't stand looking at them. It is the epitome of undercooked. For example, Charlie is a goat but barely has goat features aside from her hooves and nose. And why is she a goat in the first place? Lilith and Lucifer aren't goat-coded! After reading the wiki I found out that apparently Charlie's animal features are supposed to be reminiscent of a satyr (a demon from greek mythology), yet satyrs are mostly depicted with big horns and furry legs. And it's like that about every character Viv has made: the more you read the wiki, the more convoluted these characters become, and the designs don't reflect these traits properly.

Is it funny of me to say that I don't want to interact with something because the characters' looks are so bad they make me wanna cry? Probably.

YEA, a lot of the designs have little to no thought put into them, and the changes they made for she show for them genuinely either changed NOTHING or made prior issues WORSE.

It's common for cursed or demon children to have Satyr legs, whether or not the childs parents have such a trait. Satyrs aren't demons, but they def inspired the Christian depiction of demons.
