it's not that he's embarassed of your relationship, he's got his reasons. ranging from protecting you to wanting to keep it to himself. either way he just doesn't feel the need to show off your guys relationship, rather deciding to be nonchalant in regards to it.

I noticed that the older Sally got, the more afraid she became of the sound of missiles, shelling and explosions ( That is, it has not and will not get used to war and bombing ), to the point that last night when a house near our current displacement site was bombed, she ran to me very scared and all night she suffered from a severe fever, which, God forbid, would have made me lose her.
What I want to tell you is that even if we don't die from direct bombing, we die a thousand times from fear for our children, in addition to the extreme hunger and bitter cold that we suffer in the tents.

But they didn't want it to an entirly baseless relationship with no feelings. So they made sure that you and Yunho spent time around each other in childhood. And while the two of you knew the true nature of how your relationship would end up, there was never any pressure put on the two of you to perfectly get along. But either way a friendship was fostered between the two of you, both of you inseperatable from a young age.
