Pretty crazy that Damián keeps fucking up Marta’s personal life by, somehow, interfering with her spouses and arranging the pieces as he sees fit. First he meddled with Jaime and forced Marta, and Jaime, into a miserable situation. Now he organises ad-hoc political dinners for Pelayo, sans consulting Pelayo or Marta. All to keep the gays from gaying. Mind you, Pelayo and Dario’s situation is a far cry from Marta and Fina’s and Darío needs to lessen the pressure and intensity. He is endangering them all.
Also, worth keeping in mind that Marta’s entire character arc has been building towards making Fina her priority. A fact she’s been reinforcing more and more as of late. And one I certainly hope she won’t be forced to relegate or renounce. The entire point of her marriage to Pelayo is the freedom to be with Fina. Repeating the same patterns of the Jaime era simply won’t do, even if complications need arise.
Issue now is that she has to play the perfect trophy wife to boost Pelayo’s political career. And this will, most likely, interfere with her plans to take Fina to the theatre. Will they or won’t they? I know the general consensus is they won’t. At this point, their planned dates are code for failure. This being said, it remains to be seen. The meeting Damián has set up is very much last minute and Pelayo doesn’t need Marta to hold his hand. Let’s see how they’ll handle it.
In all seriousness though, Damián needs to be set limits. And Marta and Pelayo need their own space, away from the family. Only then will they be able to make their own decisions and not end up blindsided by daddy dearest.
P.s. I’m loving the Fina and Claudia friendship more and more. Alongside Marta they’re everything that’s good on this show
P.s. 1 I don’t see Darío ending up well. At the pace he’s going? Pelayo will run for the hills. And with good reason. The carelessness and intensity this guy brings to the table is pure recklessness and, if not handled carefully, it will ruin them all.
P.s. 2 Fina defending Marta? Perfection. Fina knows full well how much Marta has risked and sacrificed for their relationship. Darío has no idea and their situations aren’t the same. Therefore, Fina speaks nothing but the truth when she calls Marta brave and defends her woman sans hesitation. Darío could only dream of what Marta and Fina have. I rather feel sorry for him. He needs to tone things down or he risks losing everything and costing them all dearly.
Anyhow. Tomorrow’s episode, or the Monday preview, will give us an inkling as to where things are going. Maybe Fina and Marta will go on that fabled date after all. *keeps clown-mask at the ready as theatre is code for pretending*
Be it rain or sunshine weather
Let’s pretend they’re at the theatre
Curious, if in the end
All they do is just … pretend
…………..
Oh, my dear, I’ve seen this play
Theatre just ain’t for the gay
Oh my, we’re going on a date
The theatre, it’s gonna be great
Theatre stands for ‘quite the show’
Mafin lingo for ‘NO-GO’
