She/her. I publish and reblog what I please.

For all the times I've made fun of Jesper for kissing the wrong guy (do not come at me, y'all did the same), it still plagues my mind how he literally felt something was off, that that wasn't how kissing Wylan was supposed to feel like- And don't think about how, had we gotten the spin-off, he would've KNOWN something was wrong bc THAT'S NOT HOW WYLAN KISSES HIM-

Underrated Six of Crows duology quote of the day:

I’m already harbouring fugitives. If I’m going to aid, I may as well abet.

- Colm Fahey, Crooked Kingdom chapter 25

Realising that if Netflix hadn’t cancelled Shadow and Bone and the Six of Crows spin off, we would’ve probably gotten the new season at around this time in this year

🖕🏼Netflix

i will forever grieve the fact that netflix had the most perfect casting for shadow and bone (specifically the crows) and just wasted it like............i'm pretty convinced they did some type of ritual to summon wylan van eck's spirit and jack wolfe was created

I love Six of Crows (and Crooked Kingdom). Always new things to find.

Was rereading Crooked Kingdom for research/enjoyment, and I found Jesper quote I hadn't noticed before...

Which pairs so well with another of my favourite Wesper moments...

Wylan gives Jesper's life direction...

My heart....

Leigh Bardugo is an excellent writer.

Wylan hadn’t meant to doze off during bedtime storytelling. In his defense, Jesper’s reading voice always had a soothing effect on him—nothing else quite like it. His warm baritone had only deepened and grown richer over the years, much like a fine Zemeni wine. Add to that Milo, whose small, warm body curled against Wylan’s stomach, the little boy’s presence so comforting that it was no wonder he drifted off.

At some point, Wylan pulled himself from sleep, blinking against the bright glow of the bedside lamp. Jesper had stopped reading. He was staring at the ceiling, lost in thought, the book lying forgotten across his chest. The boy nestled between them was fast asleep, his hands curled into loose fists, shallow breaths escaping his parted lips.

Milo had always been a heavy sleeper, even as a baby. Still, Wylan was careful not to shift too much as he reached over him, gently plucking Jesper’s spectacles from the bridge of his nose. Jesper didn’t stir, barely even acknowledging the gesture. When Wylan took the book, closed it, and placed it on the nightstand beside the glasses, Jesper remained still. The small furrow between his brows was a clear sign of the internal struggle he was facing. The source of his thoughts was no mystery.

“Have you thought about it some more?” Wylan asked, his voice a soft whisper. “About what Inej and Kaz asked of us?”

He was reluctant to add to the weight on Jesper’s mind. He knew his husband had scarcely thought of anything else since the day before. The conversation needed to happen—eventually—but Wylan had been searching for the right moment. Perhaps this was it.

Jesper’s response was a quiet hum, neither question nor affirmation, just a sound.

“We don’t have to talk about it now, if you're not ready,” Wylan quickly added. “I just want to make sure you’re not bottling things up.”

This time, Jesper answered with actual words. “I never bottle things up,” he protested.

Wylan raised an eyebrow, his skepticism evident.

With a deep sigh, Jesper turned onto his side to face Wylan, careful not to disturb their son as he did. He tucked one hand beneath his head, resting it on the pillow. “I keep telling myself it's no big deal—that I've done it before,” Jesper admitted, meeting Wylan's gaze. “But when you really think about it, it's not the same at all. With Milo, I knew he would be my son. I knew I’d get to see him grow up. But when you have no choice but to give your child to another family... it's just not the same.”

“I know, darling,” Wylan murmured sympathetically. “There’s no right or wrong answer here. Only a decision to make, based on how you feel deep down, in your heart and soul.”
