I’m here because of art and writing somehow...∠( ᐛ 」∠)_

When other Yellowjackets fans, majority who are poc themselves, talk about how weird and frustrating it is that the writers introduced a random yte character and gave them a storyline when there were two (technically three but they killed off Lottie even when there was an opportunity for more) woc, who have been around since s1, that could've fit the mold instead (like Mari) and have actual personalities outside of building up/being the lapdog for another character. Or how often times many of the, limited, poc characters are often either treated poorly and killed off, or pushed to the side (Simone, reduced to the disposable black girlfriend trope and is nearly killed by her partner because she's in the way of a ship; Travis, since s1, had his trauma dismissed or ignored and was overly hated but no one talks about how he was SA'd by the girls he's now stuck with on top of having to eat his brother and not be able to grieve over it). How Taissa's whole storyline is just revolving around Van even with all the potential, especially given she's fighting to be free from her own mind, how Lottie's mental illness is treated so poorly as if it's not the butt of a joke then it's met with heavy criticism (and the only time she is met with sympathy for it, it's through the lens of a yte character embodying her and having an emotional conversation with her father). How you can have all of these reasons (and more) for being annoyed by Melissa's character or the direction of the show, and be met with #those fans downplaying these concerns, or just being overly antagonistic just because they find yte character #243 entertaining so obviously these conversations don't have merit. But this fandom has always had an...."interesting" way in which it discussed the poc characters on the show, so I'm not surprised.

I can never leave Tumblr because after years of sporadic therapy utterly failed to even approach the core of my problem some random tumblr user was like “I processed my trauma by writing a 10,000 word work of filthy fanfic erotica” and I was like “fuck it I’ve tried everything else” and now I’m 17 chapters and 20,000 words deep into an unpublishable work of obscenity and after careful literary analysis with one of the Beloved Mutuals I have come to some Terrible Revelations about my childhood and may now continue the process of Healing. Where else am I supposed to get this kind of experience. Who does this. Why are we like this. I’m never leaving. I love y’all.

GET GRUFFALO'D, BITCH

If you haven't heard of Julia Donaldson, she's primarily a picture book author, who we can thank for extremely popular Halloween classic Room on the Broom as well as the Gruffalo.

Let this be a testament to the power of picture books.

I'm living for these jokes.

Also I need "GET GRUFFALO'D, BITCH" on a T-shirt.

Aaaaaaa just saw your reblog of agathario art and you’re so niceys and epic and maybe the best person in the world? thank you soooo much for your kind words <3

Of fucking course!!!!

Dawg it’s like genuinely such a well made piece of art and I fucking love the texture you have for it. I honestly think it’s so lovely and it lives rent free in my mind.

I wish I was as creative as you. Because you have the brooch, the knife at Agatha’s back, Her Tears, and also the fucking robe paper you used. It’s so fucking crunchy and I love chewing on it.

Oh don’t get me started on the flowers in Rios hair it’s SO FUCKING GOOD!!!

For those seeing me and this post!!! Please check Emu out. I genuinely love the pieces that they do, and they have some fucking delicious reblogs. If I didn’t have the insane fear of mass reblogging, I would go through their tags like a hound.,., love you, Emu I hope you continue to make art!

AI can suck my balls... My lousy writing is my own,,.,. go be soulless pieces of crap writing elsewhere...actually, better yet. USE THE BRAIN YOU WERE GIVEN.

do people have no shame anymore?

Screw this crap sideways with a monorail. HELL no.

the nice thing is, if you use a custom skin on Ao3 then this is a great list of tags to add css blurb checks to style with 'display: none !important;'

I do advise making a new skin and naming it your Anti-AI list or whatever. Then adding it as a parent to your current custom skin instead of adding the list to the custom skin directly. Keeps things from getting too cluttered. As for what I mean by blurb checks...

.blurb:has(a[href*="AI-Generated"]), .blurb:has(a[href$="/tags/thank%20you%20ai/works"]) { display: none !important; }

for partial matches use href*=

for exact matches use href$=

You can knock out a lot of tags with partial matches and unique tags with the exact matches - note that partial/exact matches are upper/lower case sensitive

And what does doing this accomplish you might wonder? Well, when Ao3's backend returns a set of search results, it'll still return fics that have these tags. But any works with those tags won't be displayed because any element with the blurb tag that has within it anchor elements (links) that match the href criteria will have their display setting set to 'none'. Goodbye AI generated fics.

So if there should be twenty fics displayed on the page but you only see 19, then you know that one of the fics that matched your search results was tagged as being a fic written with AI.

There are some tags I didn't include when creating my own blocklist because things like 'AI assistant' could refer to using AI to help write a fic or... it could refer to a character like JARVIS in the MCU acting as Tony's assistant. Sometimes what we intend to convey when using a tag isn't necessarily what the tag wranglers tie that tag to. And that is the downside to doing a blocklist like this because you might wind up blocking a bit more than intended. So that is something to consider when deciding how broad or narrow you want to make your blocklist.

Another plus to consider is that doing this in an Ao3 skin instead of using an external tool is that it'll work anywhere you're logged into your account. Your computer, your phone, your tablet, 3DS, Playstation browser, whatever you're getting your fanfic fix from.

But the TLDR is, if you don't want AI fanfics wasting your time when your looking for something good to read, then here's a way to hide them from view.

You are using an unsupported browser and things might not work as intended. Please make sure you're using the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
