Jack wakes up alone on the floor alone, the space beside him vacated, the sheets still warm from your body. The light is beginning to filter in from the gap in the blackout curtains, an odd blurred spectacle amongst the darkness of the room. He lies there and does a mental assessment, the vertigo is gone, his sight returning, his eye feels swollen and tender as does the bump on the back of his head.

The toilet flushes, the sound of running water from the tap. He tilts his face towards he bathroom as the door opens and there you are standing before him, a vision in his old Bob Dylan t-shirt and a pair of boxershorts you’ve snagged from his clean laundry pile.

“Sorry.” You whisper as you realise his eyes are on you. “Sleeping in my clothes was really uncomfortable, I hope you don’t mind.”
