See I recently freaked out over koukane on twt. For all my followers to see. And in the middle of said freak out, I complained how there are no fics in the Kou/Akane tag. No, not even that, there was one and it was smut.

So. Apparently, after hearing that, two of my discord friends/twt mutuals, Dan and Yuu, did an absolutely insane thing

I honestly think this is the volume in which Kou is actually starting to realize and grapple with his feelings for Mitsuba (ex. the scene where mitsuba smiles and it gets him blushing) even though we don't know it bc obviously bro hasn't said anything out loud about it.

And NEITHER of them are winning the idgaf war like Mitsuba is talking about some goddamn fish and acting like he isn't going to ask this guy to wipe him off the face of the earth in an hour. And the way they're standing so close. When I first saw this I thought Mitsuba's arm was around Kou. just LOOK at gayass Kou over here. he wants that stupid pink thing so bad and he is not sure how he feels about that.

I have volume 20 facing cover-outwards on my shelf above my desk (see below) and a major perk about this is that whenever I'm sitting there either getting pissed off at my homework or at project sekai, I can look up and remember the great victory to mitsukou nation that the nightlife arc was

Fascinated by the way Kou's "evil thoughts" make him act like a cartoonish villain/delinquent, and Nene's "evil thoughts" make her act like a seductive older woman.

It really varies per person.

I wanted to yap about THIS, cause someone on tiktok recently pointed to me that in this spin off Kou’s might have wanted to “make Mitsuba cry from now on” cause he likes how Mitsuba looks or sounds when he cries.

It was thanks to this 2 users on tiktok, that came to that conclusion.

Okey, for starters, let’s start with the spin-off of the “Evil switch”, after it hits Kou, he says “These are feelings that I haven’t been able to let out until now.”

Which it implies that even if he is “acting evil” it means that he DOES in fact secretly posses these thoughts/feelings/intentions, I believe it’s like the “intrusive thoughts” where a thought or an idea that you KNOW it shouldn’t be done once you analyze it, but, it STILL pops up.

And then in the same spin-off chapter we get this interaction with Kou and Mitsuba.

(Btw, Yashiro saying how Mitsuba was gonna get a deep mental scar if he interacted with Kou…who’s gonna tell her that THAT’S the breath and butter of Mitsuba’s interactions 😭)

And here Kou tells Mitsuba: “This might be sudden, but from now on, I’m gonna make you cry like a baby”.

(Btw off topic but, I find it kinda funny and curious how Kou gives Mitsuba a “heads up” with the “this might be sudden”)

His desire to make Mitsuba cry feels like it came out of nowhere a bit, or like he just said it cause he’s currently acting like a “cartoony movie villain”.

It came out weird SPECIALLY, since a we have proof that Kou seem to enjoy Mitsuba’s smile, cause he always seem starstruck everytime Mitsuba hits him with a genuine big smile.

It’s so prominent that we even have oficial art of it and full on manga pages.

So why tf would Kou be into Mitsuba crying???

For that we have to use for reference his previous crush on Yashiro.

In another spin-off where Kou is talking with Akane, Akane asks Kou about what he likes or finds pretty/attractive about Yashiro (cause Kou’s crush in Yashiro is kinda obvious for everyone except Yashiro)

And after stumbling with his words Kou answer THIS:

He finds Yashiro’s cries and screams incredibly cute…yeah it’s kinda weird, but he’s a teenager boy in a fucked up situation, he’s allow to be a bit weird/fucked up like everybody else.

(Also I will not dive into this here, but I believe enjoying a bit your crush cries or suffering (aka a bit of sadistic tendencies) runs in the Minamoto family)

So after ALL THAT, we can come back to the spin-off chapter that started it all, with THIS panel.

In which Kou announces how he is gonna make Mitsuba “cry like a baby from now on” while looking stupidly giddy and excited for it.

Kou does not only likes or finds pretty Mitsuba’s smiles, but ALSO his cries, he doesn’t seem to even have a problem to be THE ONE that makes Mitsuba cry, like it was show in THIS extra, where Kou makes it his mission to make Mitsuba cry.

So yeah, to sum it all up, Kou likes Mitsuba’s cries/tears, BUT only when he is the one that cause it.

I guess being sadistic runs in the family, huh.

Kou is a sadist and Mitsuba a masochist what a great match. 💀
