Watch Livescreamers, support your favs, and see brand new shows like Ships and Giggles for less than a cup of coffee. OCTOPUNX is basically our new "Patreon" except we're now able to bring you way more for way less. ✌️ Even just signing up at the free tier will get you a ton of exclusive stuff like the Detroit Evolution soundtrack and an upgraded version of the film.

There's also a place to archive your Octopunk/DE fan works!

This Saturday premieres the first episode of our new show Breakout Rolls, where actors take on indie TTRPG one shots. This unique actual play series is a gateway to the world of tabletop...at least, if you aren't already into Critical Role. 👀

Detroit Evolution Homecoming- Day 1 Lazzo

I don't have the time or energy right now to be making new art so I thought it could be fun to look back at my various custom funko pops I've made for DE and DA, especially because I haven't shared the figures I made to give away during the octopunk London event to tumblr before. And to take this time to go into a bit more detail about the design choices I made for each one.

One of my favourite parts of making my original Lazzo pop (left) was his box of junk, the tiny details of Ada's cloak, the hand, there's even even tiny bag of cheetos in there, were so much fun but when it came to making the figure to give to JJ (right) I decided to keep things much more simple.

I did this for a couple of reasons the main one being that I wanted the funko pops I was giving away to be more sturdy than the ones I made for myself, custom funko pops are more fragile than normal pop figures, the paint can chip or the clay could break if it is dropped and I just wanted to take as few risks possible.

I spent a long time looking for the correct base figure so I didn't have to adjust the position of any of the limbs and ensuring those joints were much more secure.

The second reason was that I wanted to make the funko pops boxes, which was a challenge in itself but well worth it in the end for the additional protection the box provides but also because I think they gave the figures a much more authentic and finished look.

I honestly couldn't be happier with both iterations of Lazzo and yes both feather boa’s glow in the dark.

Happy birthday Detroit Reawakening! Three years ago our final Reed900 film premiered on Youtube. And funny enough, I have quite a lot of archival content about the movie that hasn't been super public before.

Did you know that I made a 20 page behind the scenes zine full of cast interviews, rare pics, liner notes, and more about our production? This was previously for IndieGogo backers but it's now permanently archived on the Octopunx community site. I think you can download and access it without any account at all, but if not, it's definitely available with a free account.

I also have a rare fan call Q&A with Carla Kim, Maximilian Koger, and Michael Smallwood now up on our Youtube as well.

Enjoy the day and thanks for sticking with us all these years!

Currently doing an Insomniac's Gambit. For those of you who don't know, this is when you mess up your sleep schedule badly enough that you attempt to fix it by skipping an entire night of sleep then going to bed at a reasonable hour the next day. Crucially, it does not work

Celebrate Detroit Evolution's Five Year Anniversary!

It's been almost five years since we released our Reed900 fan film Detroit Evolution, so we're celebrating with a fandom and art festival all April long.

  1. Simply post something related to the daily prompt starting April 1st. This can be art, cosplay, fanfic, essays, meta, memes, video, music - anything you'd like! Also it doesn't have to be new. Reposts and archival work is totally fine. This is about nostalgia, after all~
  2. Tag it #DEHomecoming.
  3. Where to post? Wherever you'd like. I don't really monitor Facebook, Tiktok, AO3 or Youtube, and I'm not on Threads at all, but if it's on Tumblr, Instagram, Twitter, or BlueSky, I'll be tracking the #DEHomecoming tag. And of course, there's our Octopunx community site. If there's enough participation and if I have time, I might do a showcase stream in May looking back on everyone's stuff!
  4. We have a prompt for every day, but filling out something for every day is totally optional. Take or leave whatever you'd like.
  5. These daily prompts are broad for a reason. Feel free to be creative with how you interpret them!

Also stay tuned for how I myself interpret some of these prompts with a few new Youtube videos in April on the OctopunkMedia channel :D

Reminder that you have a week left before this starts :)
