I've been meaning to make some quick reference sheets of my main three groups of characters you'll see in rotation, because I wanted an easy way for people to get to know them quick! (It's also a nice little landing page to redirect new followers to as well)

Anyways it's cliche, but I'm a big, big fan of "parents hate The Thing, but kid is The Thing" trope!! (This has NOTHING to do with my Danny Phantom obsession. Whatever. Leave me alone. Please ignore the fact that his sister knows he's The Thing and has to try to help keep it a secret. Irrelevant.)

Currently I only have a vague undercurrent of a story where some important Roseberg matriarch was violently killed by some type of werecreature, and the family has held this resentment for decades. I'd like for it to turn out that what actually happened was she got down bad for the werecreature and they ran away together or something hoiJKLFD

Anyways happy late April Fools', I bet you guys were freaking out sooo hard. I wish I could have gotten this done sooner, but alas: I literally only thought to do it at 9 PM HIOLJKFD

In any case, here's some bonus quickie cat studies + initial sketches to hurriedly solidify a design, so I could get it up in time!

I also debated halfway through coloring if he should have green eyes as the inverse to his pink eyes, but ultimately I decided that was deviating a little too far from Ratman's original design! (Even though I did like the green)

And as some ✨bonus lore✨, this Tim is a lot less stressed than the original Tim. So instead of his gray hairs coming from the constant stress of both Ratman AND in general his rat-instinct-induced-anxiety, it just comes from the gray fur patterning that Catman has naturally!

FINALLY got this sequence done! (I've been sitting on it for a few months now HIKLJFD)

Look.

I love characters finding out for the first time that their friend is secretly a monster in a big dramatic scene.

However I'm ALSO a big fan of the characters already knowing about that, and the true severity of the situation not sinking in till they inevitably witness it happening real time.

What if you could never look at someone you're close to the same way (despite wanting to) because, though you understood the monster you saw was them, the stark dissonance between the two always kept them separate in your mind till that moment? That skin crawling change and those bloodcurdling shrieks allowing the gravity of the situation to finally settle in? And now you have to carry on knowing this, involuntarily seeing them either through a lens of horror, abject pity, or compassion? Y'know?!

The crew also finally get to realize the fact that Kid has been blaming himself for "The Incident" this whole time, since he was the one who was [yelling on Assurance], and has assumed he attracted the eyeless dog in the first place.

The three of them are more delicate with Cap'n afterwards, which she notices and feels weirdly othered by it, regardless of if it's well intentioned or not. Things go back to normal eventually, but it's definitely TOUCHY for a while.

For real though, I definitely understand being nervous, but I'd love to see more interactions between Cap'n and other weredogs! :] Even if you don't end up doing it, I'm super flattered you even considered it! (Doubly so cause the weredog concept was supposed to be a one-and-done thing for me, and yet... here we are... Almost a year later...)

I'm glad you liked the recent post about the breakdown of the characters, cause honestly I really wanted to establish that there was some genuine thought put behind the characters and their designs, as simple/trope-y as they are!

I was suddenly given a divine vision of a smarmy looking Tim with a cigar, so here you go!

It's some sort of AU where he swaps lifestyles with his extremely well-liked/famous sister, [Josephine]. I don't talk about it much, but Tim used to be a [theater kid], so I think that the ego that comes along with that never got nipped in the bud, allowing him to become a desirable, but sleezy, actor who shaves paychecks, double-crosses contracts, and lies to producers faces to get what he wants.

Then something something nooo his hubris something something he has a rat in him now because of his ego something something.

I'm gonna be a vendor at @dashcon-two! (YES it's REAL!)

I'm super excited since this will be my first con I've tabled at as the main guy! (At least for the most part, I helped a bit at FanExpo as an semi-assistant and had one or two things on the table for sale)

The tickets are unfortunately sold out by now, but it seems like they may be selling virtual tickets soon, so keep an eye out!

I have merch already lined up (which I miiight post soon to get a feel for what I should actually put my energy towards), but please don't hesitate to shoot some ideas over to me of things that may mesh with my interests or style!
