V's Night at Freddy's Chapter 3 sneak peek 👀

Because the man behind Dante's Night at Freddy's himself commented on my Security Breach take on his fic, and wondered if I was ever going to update, I present this quick sneak peek chapter upon ye!

V weaved past the play structures as fast as his mobility issues would allow, the static snarl of the now hostile robot echoing after him.

“Naughty children must be found.”

He heard the small thumps of Gregory crawling through the play structure next to him, along with the low, guttural growl from right above him.

As well as the crimson eyes that cut through the darkness, giving away the robot hovering its way towards the structure.

“Naughty children must be punished.”

V whistled, quickly departing as soon as it diverted the bot’s attention.

“Naughty children must be found,” it said from above closely.

Too closely.

“Must be punished.

V was too busy dodging the attack he sensed was coming to realize he was about to crash into a pile of metal cans, hearing what was either LEGO bricks or Lincoln Logs spill  across the floor he fell onto.

“Argh!” the bot yelled. “Look at this mess!”

V attempted to get back up, before that thing could get him, but was too flabbergasted by the bot hovering right over him to land between him and the mess he made, back turned to him as they began to…clean it up?

“Clean up, clean up,” came their distorted song as they scooped up a handful of Lincoln Logs. “Everybody, everywhere…”

God, not THAT song, V thought, recalling the one time Dante sang it at the top of his lungs-badly-during a rare babysitting gig.

But rather dwelling on that, V slowly stood himself back up, balancing on his cane before he silently left the scene.

And right in time for the first light to come on, illuminating one of the spaces between the structures, followed by another from within the structures itself, which he now found out had thick cables weaving in and out.

That doesn’t look particularly safe…

He flinched at the violent hiss, followed by the bot’s cries of,

“Light! Light!”

Digging and Freezing

Norman and Neil put their plan to (harmlessly) dominate the Sandworm into action.

The Divine Comedy is considered a classic. It has survived the ages and today still inspires... So much people forget is basically a self insert fan fic in which Dante went adventuring with his favorite author.

It's up there with the other greats as foundational western literature.

It's been a long long time since I've dug into it, but I'm remembering there were some incredibly thinly veiled digs as some very powerful people at the time in it too.

Which may be another reason it's survived, it's a fairly constant thing in humanity that we all get a bit of joy out of ripping on the rich and powerful.

Nice thing about the current year for that is, at least in most places round the world, you won't get gibbited for doing it if you piss off the wrong person.

In case no one told you growing up

  • Bras last longer if you let them air dry. Don’t put them in the dryer.
  • If you have a problem with frizzy hair, don’t dry your hair with a towel. It makes the frizzies worse. (I recently read an article that said to use a t-shirt? I brush mine out and let it air dry.)
  • Whites wash best in hot water. Everything else can be in cold - save on your electricity bill.
  • You can kill 99.9% of germs in a sponge by putting it in the dishwasher for a cycle or by microwaving it for 2 min (be sure to make the sponge damp before microwaving and to put a cup half full of water in with it and please DO NOT squeeze the sponge until it has cooled off)
  • Airing out your room/house and letting sunlight in every so often can decrease the number of household pests like silverfish and ants.
  • Black underwear is best during your period as stains are less likely to be visible.
  • To save money, put aside 10% of each paycheck into a savings account. It’ll add up.
  • Unless your hair has something on/in it (like grease or mud or something), using conditioner first can actually be the better choice. The conditioner holds in the good oils that help you hair look sleek and beautiful, which shampoo would otherwise wash away.
  • Speaking of shampoo - if you have long hair, washing just the bits that touch your scalp is generally enough. The rest of your hair gets cleaned with just the run off from your scalp.
  • If you put a tampon in and it’s uncomfortable/you can feel it, you didn’t do it quite right. A properly placed tampon is virtually unnoticeable by the wearer.
  • Apply deodorant/antiperspirant a couple hours in advance of when you need it. This gives the product the chance to block your sweat glands. Using deodorant just before going somewhere where you’ll sweat (this means walking outside for people in high humidity places) results in your sweat washing the deodorant off and starkly limiting its usefulness.
  • After running the dryer, use the dryer sheet from that load to brush out the lint catch - it gets everything off in a fraction of the time it’ll take you to get it clean with your bare hands. Paper towels also work well.
  • Wash your face everyday, or as often as possible. Forget which brand of cleanser is best. Just washing your face everyday will guarantee you clearer skin. And do you best not to pop pimples, as tempting as the urge may be.
  • Fold laundry asap after taking it from the dryer to avoid wrinkles. This may seem obvious for dress shirts and silly for things like t-shirts, but you’ll notice the difference even then once your shirts stop looking like unfolded paper balls.
