Farmer’s daughter (idk what I’m gonna call this yet)
(Also a little gift for my birthday ;3)
“Go clean up the guest bathroom y/n” you grumble as you hold the bucket full of chemicals and brushes as you walk towards the guest bathroom
You didn’t necessarily like doing the chores around the house, always being the one to cook then clean, feed the animals and whatnot. It annoyed you, but it needed to be done whether you like it or not.
Now you were tasked with cleaning the guest bathroom that hadn’t been touched in months, probably grimy and disgusting. Of course it wasn’t your choice to make, your mom said she would be having company over and that it needed to be cleaned.
yeah right, it was probably one of her latest boyfriends or someone she had to make a good impression for that wouldn’t be here for more than a few hours, not even touch the bathroom and leave. It was pointless to you, but alas you stood in front of the toilet, your hair done back as you scrubbed at the built up grime, wincing at the smell of the trash can.
You washed the shower, cleaning shoes messy and squeaking against the floor as you walked to the front door to throw out whatever you had to.
You had washed up, chores all gone for the rest of the day, finally you had a moment to yourself and rested on the hammock your dad had put up for you so many years ago. You happily enjoyed the moment, swinging and letting the occasional breeze hit you.
As you try to enjoy your day you see a truck, a bright red, covered in dirt and dust as it pulls up in front of your house. You sit up curiously, watching as a tall man leaves the car, your mom coming out of the house and hushing him in.
It was strange, it made you sit there curious, swinging back and forth.
City official? No, he didn’t have the same air as one
Too young but not necessarily old…maybe a farmhand for the summer?
But mom likes Tucker, no problems between them as far as you know. Tucker is a good worker, loves what he does and doesn’t have a problem with working. It’s what your dad used to call honest work, always paying him well for his work.
Suddenly you’re distracted by a familiar little lamb, running around as you get up, giggling as you follow it.
“Chops!” You giggle, following the lamb, “where you goin?”
He lets out a bleat, making you chase after him before stopping right in front of the house. You giggle, kneeling to grab the lamb quietly before feeling someone’s gaze on you.
You look up to see the man that had left his truck earlier standing infront of the glass door, looking down at you.
It made you feel a little nervous, like you’d throw up. You held chops closer to your body, blinking as you look at the stranger, your mom approaching behind him.
“N/n, have you met Schlatt yet? He’s gonna help out this summer instead of Tucker” she chirps
