I am one of the Talons still complaining. Consider this trip with Varric a contract. Crows don’t fail contracts, especially Crows of House de Riva who may need to improve their judgment. Love that the DA:V protagonist is called Rook.
In chess, the Rook is the only other piece outside the Queen that can checkmate an enemy king by themselves. The role of the Rook is often to support the movement of your other pieces & those who play the Rook the most effectively tend to win. That, and the Rook is often tucked into the corner at the start of the game, waiting for the pieces to settle onto their squares before receiving attention. ♟️
