Just learned about this. He got banned from playing with rainbow captain band. So he made himself a pair of shoes to show his support .Love this. Old story but new to me, we need more of this. People standing up. Finding ways. In a way possible where they are. And this was just brilliant.
Handball professional and national team captain Tobias Karlsson has stood up for equal rights for all for several years. By wearing a rainbow flag armband on the field when he has played in Europe, he has won respect and love, but also made enemies with the European Handball Federation. During the 2016 European Championship in Poland, he chose to play with a rainbow-colored armband to show his dissatisfaction with the fact that same-sex marriage is prohibited in the host country. He was banned from doing this. The same thing happened during his club games in the German Bundesliga when he also played with a rainbow armband on his arm.
He found a new way to show rainbow support, without offending the association's rules. He made a pair of shoes made with rainbow prints on the shoes, and under the sole. Also provided with the words "Equality" and "Diversity". Tomorrow, Saturday, the premiere on the handball field with the shoes.
