local chance dies for marketable plushies
it had to be done.
Listen.
EVERYBODY knows (or should) that you DO. NOT. STOP. in Vidor, Texas.
It’s best to just run out of gas elsewhere. Whatever you do, black folks, DO NOT STOP IN VIDOR, TEXAS.
There’s a good chance you’ll get lynched or just come up missing - and I’m not joking.
also do NOT stop in Harrison, Arkansas!!!! (relatively close to OK and MI) a nazi town with a BIG KKK organization.

AUTO REBLOG
On this weeks episode of why America is terrifying.
im not american but god this is terrifying
Warning people of the existence of sundown towns feels extra important now.
I don't talk a lot about Poppy Playtime because I don't play the game, and I only like a few characters from that franchise. However, I feel the need to speak up about Doey the Doughman... or rather, I need to speak up about Kevin Barnes, one of the kids that makes up Doey.
I keep seeing a lot of people call Kevin the "evil" part of Doey or simply the "angry" part of Doey. That isn't fair to Kevin at all, I think. According to the scientists at Playtime Co., Kevin excelled in mental and physical tests. This kid is smart, strong and fast! Also, Kevin himself (as Doey) comments about being hurt by parents... so I have to assume that before Kevin became an orphan, he was abused by his parents. So, can you really blame him for being angry and mistrustful of others?
Gonna be honest, as someone who also has temper issues, it doesn't feel good to see a character I like being reduced to their anger and being called evil when his anger is mostly justified. Granted, Kevin's temper is murderous, and there's never an excuse for that. But after all this poor kid has been through - abusive parents, losing his parents, Playtime Co. experimenting on him and manipulating him, the Prototype and his bullshit - I don't blame him. This kid is heavily traumatized.
Also, can we please talk about Doey's color scheme for a minute?
A lot of people like to think the red on Doey's design represents Kevin. If that's really the case, notice how Kevin's color takes up both legs on Doey. Kevin is literally supporting the other two kids that make up Doey. He's helping them survive, because let's be real, as angry as Kevin can get, surviving a tough situation is what he's best at. For all we know, it's probably Kevin who helped Doey tough it out as long as he has.
tl;dr-- Kevin Barnes isn't evil, just angry and traumatized, and he deserves to be more than to simply be known as "evil Doey". He's the toughest part of Doey, the strongest part, the smartest part. Give credit to him where it's due, that's all I'm saying.
