there is a very specific type of brainrot endemic to western white gays from "nondenominational" christian backgrounds that has them treating the pope like their estranged yet beloved grandpa and it has been fascinating to watch them grapple with their grief(???) over the loss of the Cool Pope, a thing that anyone could ever be while helming the—and, i really cannot emphasize this enough—catholic church.
