first of all i definitely don’t think he’ll be a fully-fledged villain. it’s still unclear whether tyler was in control/aware of all of his actions towards wednesday or if that was marilyn/laurel’s doing, but i do think he genuinely liked wednesday

as for the storyline, i don’t think he’ll be the antagonist of S2, because 1) there was that plot line involving bianca’s mother being a cult leader so i think the villain role will shift to her and 2) wednesday’s S1 finale monologue mentioned that line about how ‘maybe laurel and tyler were just pawns in someone’s game’

HOWEVER i don’t think that he’ll be completely replaced. jenna ortega mentioned that S2 is very horror-driven and there’s a whole episode inspired by slashers, and based on that i’m gonna guess that tyler will escape/be broken out of the mental institution he was put in because ‘lunatic leaves asylum’ is such a common horror element (see halloween and psycho ii) and i also think wednesday will be the one to break him out but that’s a whole other post

my theory is that he’ll help the nevermore gang fight against whoever S2’s villain is, and that will be his redemption arc. but for wyler, i don’t think it’ll happen (at least in this season) because tyler did severely harm eugene and enid, and wednesday won’t warm up to him immediately after that. i do think that by the end of S2, she’ll begrudgingly tolerate him
