Lots of thoughts recently. Everything feels plastic.
I could go on and on about why all that AI "art" is bad. I could mention theft, lack of creativity, it's impact on the work field and environment, but countless people have already said all that. I wanted to touch on something that to me is the most utterly wrong about all of it.
Art is more than just something pretty to look at or listen to. It's therapeutic. It's a form of communication. A tool for human connection. It's a pure, human need.

This man is innocent, his appearance and build doesn’t match that of the killers, the only “motive” he had was a convenient written confession showing that he supposedly viewed healthcare companies as “parasitic” and too expensive (which does somewhat contradict the actual killers actions) he had said note and the murder weapon conveniently on him while living his ordinary life, the killer held the gun in his right hand while Luigi is left-handed, Luigi and the Killer were potentially seen simultaneously, they wore slightly different coats.
The NYPD KNOW these are different people, they know the evidence is lacking, this isn’t a mistaken identity, it’s framing, they are trying to make themself appear to still be control by catching this man, humiliating him, killing him, when they know full well that the person they are prosecuting ISNT EVEN THE RIGHT GUY! This is an injustice! This is not a fair trial! This is downright tyranny!
They confiscated his bag at the mcdonald's, took it out of everyone's sight, unpacked it and repacked it, and THEN took it down to the station and wow there was a manifesto in there that he was just carrying around in daily life for some reason
Definitely the sort of thing that the Bag Of Monopoly Money Guy would be carrying to McDonald's

i have never met an unpsychotic person who knows what it actually means to “not encourage the delusion” …not a single one
what “don’t encourage the delusion” means:
- don’t argue with or challenge the delusion—attempting to disprove someone’s delusions is not helpful at all and will result in that person not trusting you
- assure the delusional person that they are safe; be open and honest at all times
- encourage them to verbalize their feelings and offer protection to prevent injury to themselves or, possibly, others
- start building a trusting relationship with them rather than acting on a desire to control their symptoms
- do not confirm or feed into the delusion by asking questions about it when the person is not experiencing a psychotic episode
what it does not mean:
- insisting to a psychotic person experiencing psychosis that what they’re experiencing isn’t real
I don’t mean to trivialize psychosis by making a weird comparison, but this guide also serves as a handy checklist for helping someone through a bad drug trip. In both cases your number one priority is to get the person through whatever they’re dealing with unharmed.
i don’t think it’s trivializing at all, nor a weird comparison—as a psychotic person who has had psychotic episodes inadvertently triggered by drug use and/or worsened while trying to self-medicate with drugs, i think this is an important addition.

believe it or not some female characters don’t have to be mothers. some female characters shouldn’t be mothers. some female characters have a history of expressed disinterest in being mothers. some female characters would have to do a complete 180 in characterization in order to be mothers.

The best way I've ever heard it described is "Furry isn't inherently sexual. But it's very aware and under no pretenses about it." In my experience. Furry ain't anymore sex-focused than comics, anime, or any other nerd subculture. God knows I've heard my share of anime-con hookups and klingon bdsm stories. But it's here, it's (largely) queer, and you can fucking get use to it.
Furry started out as a spin off of comic conventions. Like they were called "Funny Animal" conventions back in the day because it carried the name of the comic genre. But it's been there since the beginning and if you know comic conventions that should be proof enough.
