hi. have you considered playing the first chapter of my visual novel, soul of sovereignty? have you considered this list of enticing reasons to play it?

  • a rich fantasy world inspired by rpgs without all that pesky "g" getting in the way
  • an inscrutable dilf-clown relationship with an estimated 65% chance of making you insane
  • beautiful art [you make brief eye contact with me and see the incredible pain i must endure to praise myself in this way. and you simply have to stan]
  • a magic system based on the language of flowers that has kept me up at night for years (i acknowledge that this says much more about me than the work itself)
  • music by my friend toby fox, and also me in the background hitting the tambourine like at karaoke
  • what if kefka had the big bap

hello. are you still there? then take my hand, and come with me...

and also, there's a free demo. ๐Ÿ˜‡

hello i just played the demo for your visual novel and i can INDEED CONFIRM THE BEAUTIFUL ART PERK IS TRUE!!! its more akin to a comic than a visual novel, and it's incredibly charming; i think it works very well with the fact we already play as an established character. the lack of choices is made up for by their distinct personalities and amazing illustrations that get me going. even though it was only 30 minutes, it gave me a very good impression of the world building and your characterisation. 10/10 cant wait to see more from you!

thank you very much.

delighted that you're posting sincere and sexy art on the day when vn devs suffer more than christ on the cross for the crime of working in a genre everyone else sees as a big goddamned joke

i mean, thank you, but these days i feel like giving ironic vns any space in your brain is fruitless. i'm also a little fatigued by april fool's in general. i just want to have fun

thank you for making soulsov . i hate you (kindly)

okay yay

do you have any advice on balancing humor and drama? even in really tense scenes you manage to have light-hearted twists that also actually mean something to the drama itself. how do you manage to be funny while not undercutting the tension, and be dramatic without turning the whole thing dour?

thank you. i can't really give "sense of humor advice." and anyway, i think it's more important to be sincere than to be funny. i've said this before, but it's a huge pet peeve for me when a joke screams insecurity. like, "this serious stuff is so boring, right? here's something stupid!" if you're going to veer from drama into comedy, you should maintain enough respect for your story and characters that they can recover their dignity when it's time to be serious again.

the sketches of loic holding the dog... has there ever been a man this beautiful

the ladies can't resist a dog (note: he never says anything like this)

Anonymous asked:

what does loic's name look like in aksendi?

please bear in mind that my conlanging is on an as-necessary basis and everything i post here is extremely subject to change. but here is what i have for you right now:

"ard" is an aksendi surname. "loic" is mosaian, but it's a near-homonym with an aksendi word. that will come up later, so "please" look forward to it.

Anonymous asked:

loic and lia have a dog? what breed is it??

realizing with horror that i'm going to have to come up with some bullshit tales-ass fantasy dog breed like an iabelese shepherd

Anonymous asked:

loic has enough experience reading lavender that he only needs a few words and a single floret... did he ever need to use them that often to calm down his own anxiety, the way he treats tutu with them to quiet those errant thoughts?

"please look forward to" it
