"Why don't u wear makeup" because of my traumatic backstory. Next question
so weird to see notes on my fandom side blog cause I made it just for reblogging fandom stuff without spoiling thr stuff I was into for my friends, except then I posted some art there cus I figured "nah that's weird I'm not posting my fanart on main" but now that blog has like 50 followers and I get notes on my reblogs of detective conan memes and YALL that's so WEIRD. it's not even my post. what are they doing there
my mom is an avid Hallmark channel watcher but she found out they did a gay commercial once and started watching some conservative Hallmark ripoff. however she also has a weak spine when it comes to boring movies so she switches between the two if she doesn't like whatever the other one has on.
I can always tell which one she's watching. she thinks I have an uncanny ability to recognize near-identical TV channels but the reality is that the conservative channel's set design is just so crap compared to Hallmark
not to sound crazy but. it is utterly absurd that someone who's completely unqualified in your field can make judgements and you just have to accept it, because they're more qualified in Their field than you are in Yours despite the lack of overlap. like yes, you may be the world's greatest chess player, but you wouldn't be better at oceanology than an amateur marine biologist. being really good at Thing A does not make you better than someone who is mediocre at Thing B.
in unrelated (lyingg) news i just got chosen to do concept art for a show directed by a high schooler whose main priority was VAs and has no animators and I'm like. it's me and one other guy. me and my pal are gonna be making an entire pitch, I guess? as concept artists? Concept art and voices don't get you anywhere. I really wanna be hopeful but like. all the directing experience in the world doesn't translate to art and I'm worried that they're gonna expect a lot more than i can deliver.
Something that's almost never acknowledged by jd readers (yes this is a character study)
A popular belief from s1 is that Jackson beat up exer because of what he did to pamela, however that's not actually right
If you go back to read prior to the fight you'll realize that Jackson was never really pissed off about what exer did until he realized that exer been sabotaging him too, that's when he gets angry.
Of course he acknowledges that's what exer did to pamela and yes it upset him and he believes pam should know; but the thing is that it doesn't upset him enough to beat exer up
Do you know what upsets him enough?
Pamela's makeover and joining the reds
This is what upsets him enough to beat exer up
Why?
Because looking at this from a different perspective; it looks like exer is still trying to sabotage Jackson's life and isolate him.
The only people on Jackson's side are pamela and brenda, but brenda is more of with both sides and with David being her brother and she obviously regaining her crush on exer; that would leave Jackson with only one person he can absolutely trust won't leave him: Pamela
So seeing Pamela with the reds felt like everything was crumbling for him; that exer was manipulating pam to join him and his friends and then exer would continue his cat and mouse game that Jackson now knows of.
So really it wasn't about pamela as a person as much as it was about pamela as Jackson's last remaining companion in that rivalry thing
I haven't reread in a while but I also thought that scene was Jackson thinking Exer was taking advantage of Pamela? like by making friends with her withot telling her that she was right, she would never accuse him again because now they were friends.. now he would have control of the situation especially because Pamela would feel she was in the wrong to begin with?
anyway I never saw it as exer isolating Jackson but that also makes sense. of course Jackson sees it as another way of manipulating the narrative, by removing the only other person who "knew" about the magic and was on Jackson's side
Good point. I can see it go both ways tbh, but I'm still going to stick with my point because it makes more sense to me personally with how Jackson would delay telling the truth to pamela looked like he was concerned with what exer did more than how it effected pamela on a deeper level

I’m reading Jackson’s Diary right now and Jackson is both Veronica and JD from Heathers HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Like not really, he’s only really like Veronica because he’s the main character
But he does get JD like especially with the diary version of him.
Honestly I just thought this cause the diary version of him is JD and it’s funny that he’s in a similar position as to Veronica. Just y’know with magic.
@pampam101 IS YOUR #1 STAN
Well now I’m scared
bshhshshhjj GUYS DON'T TELL HER THAT
