hey everyone, thanks for supporting me so far! again, the car renovation is going well. i've built some storage and now just need to figure out the sink and plumbing to make it all functional. i'll probably make a video update soon and upload it to my youtube channel.

as of today, i'm completely broke. i've been able to save some money by eating a lot of ramen and mac n cheese, but a lot of money has been spent on the materials for this renovation too.

if you can, please consider sending some cash my way so i can continue the project. more urgently, i also need to put gas in my car and buy more food. i have $3 today, so please help me out if you can! anything will help me get through each day.

please, please don't let me go through another day of napping all day because i'm too broke to do anything. i have no gas, i need $40 for a full tank. the only food i have is rice and beans. the small donations have been keeping me afloat and i'm grateful, but i haven't had enough for a while. this project has been expensive, and half the time i can't even work with the materials i got because i don't have gas to get to the park where i work or food to nourish myself after the labor. PLEASE help me out, small donations are great, bigger ones are better! i'm sorry to beg like this, but this is my only way to get money right now without holding a sign on the side of the road

Every passing moment, the situation in Gaza worsens. We are over two million people living in dire conditions, where obtaining food and water has become nearly impossible. The crossings are closed, and we are left with only a few available resources, while food prices rise day by day. There is no electricity, and the groundwater is polluted, with no way to access it due to the lack of power needed to pump it. Our lives have become a nightmare.

What makes our suffering worse is the continuous sounds of bombings and planes flying overhead without end. We don’t know where the next strike will come from, and anxiety grips every family. All of this makes life harder than anyone could imagine.

We are in desperate need of help and ask for any donation you can provide. Your contribution could mean the difference between life and death for us. This help might allow us to access food or safe drinking water and give us a chance to survive under these harsh conditions. My family and I are relying on your support to endure this difficult time.

fatphobia affects men and nonbinary people too. a lot of people frame fatphobia as if it’s a byproduct of misogyny but its not, it is a unique form of oppression separate from misogyny. misogyny makes fatphobia worse, of course, but all fat people are still affected by it

It really is — not in the sense that having a larger amount of fat on your body necessarily makes you disabled, but because they both have this same inherent reaction of disgust from non-obese/abled people.

People dislike accommodating disabled people because they dislike being reminded that disabled people exist — that there are people’s bodies who don’t necessarily fit the accepted norm. They don’t like being reminded that these are things that CAN happen to the human body, even to their own bodies, and so they reject it outright. Disabled people’s bodies and minds don’t work like society dictates, and so the reaction from many people is disgust — the feeling that makes people want to push them away, to hide them, so that they don’t have to be reminded that the human body can do that.

It’s the same with fat people. Our bodies look and act differently than the accepted norm — parts are larger than expected, they move differently than expected — and so the reaction is disgust. They dislike seeing a human person whose body differs from that acceptable version, that reminds them that bodies can move and change and look drastically different from their own.

In both cases the reaction is wrong — disabled bodies and fat bodies are just bodies, and however much they differ from an acceptable standard has nothing to do with the worth of the bodies or the people within them. But because we are taught from birth that there is one way that people can be, one way that human beings look, any normal or natural variation will be looked upon with disgust.

And THAT is why fatphobia is closer to ableism than misogyny. Because the core of misogyny is a set of beliefs about women, and the core of fatphobia is disgust. We can’t tackle the problem the same way because we will never be liberated from either fatphobia or ableism until our society can look at us long enough to accept us as real human beings

The whole “I don’t hate fat people, I just think we *shouldn’t encourage* [translate: shouldn’t accommodate] people being overweight because they’re *unhealthy* ” thing is also uuuuhhh
