All these people panicking about Musk doing the salute, when just a few months ago they were turning a blind eye to Nazis at their protests doing the exact same thing, or even joining in...like girl, don’t panic lol. Don’t freak out! He’s your buddy. He’s with you ♥️

This story involves 80-year-old Lynne McFarland in Tennessee, who refused to leave a Senate Finance Committee hearing over a controversial bill to charge undocumented children for education or refuse their enrollment altogether. “She stayed in her seat and said she could not leave because ‘what they were doing was wrong,’” WSMV reported Tuesday. Tennessee Highway Patrol Troopers warned McFarland that she would be arrested if she refused to leave, to which McFarland replied, “That’s okay. I can’t do it.” These troopers then proceeded to forcefully carry this 80-year-old woman out of the hearing. She was arrested and later posted a $2,000.00 bond. She objected because what they were doing was wrong. She resisted peacefully. She never wavered from her moral stance. [...]

Doing It Again

At the Post Office rallies, the No Kings protests and Tesla Takedown protests, we see a lot of people who fought in wars for this country, people who protested in the 1960s, people who’ve been at this a lot longer than many of us. Imagine having done the protests in your youth and thinking it was done, only to find yourself in your 80s needing to do it again. That’s dedication and love of human rights. This woman can now proudly say she was charged with disrupting a meeting and “resisting arrest” to defend children and basic human rights — i.e., what used to be core American values. She did not consent to the abuse of others. The Tennessee troopers who put their hands on an 80-year-old woman and carried her out of the meeting and into the back of a squad car have to live with their choice. This is absolutely not a good look.

Patriotism in action: 80-year-old Tennessee woman Lynne McFarland stood up for undocumented immigrants, and got arrested for civil disobedience for refusing to leave the hearing.

i hope a ceiling fan falls on the empty spot in the bed next to you and it starts understanding your needs

The people who police your gender will police your gender even if you're cis.

Eat them.

"OH those body builder women with pancake breasts arent-" eat them.

"This woman has a beard, thats not-" eat them.

"That man has a baby face, that's not" - eat them with barbecue sauce.

Eat them. You will never be gender enough for their definition of gender. Eat them.

Just calmly taking a walk across the rolling sea ...

this video was so cool it compelled me to bust out my watercolors for the first time in over a year

My roommate thought she hated cooking and then she moved in with me and started using knives that were actually sharp and realized cooking is fun. Sometimes I wonder how many other situations are like this. It's not you, or your skills. It's just the lack of correct tools. Everyone knows you need a knife in the kitchen but no one mentions a sharpening stone.

Also you should probably sharpen your knife.

Speaking less metaphorically I literally do wonder how many people would realize Cooking Doesn't Suck if only they had sharper knives. Cutting vegetables is not supposed to be a workout. You're not supposed to apply force when you press down. If you have to force the knife down then the knife is dull! This is a fixable problem!

one thing no one ever teaches you is that you can just make things nicer and more intentional- you can take your energy drink, pour it in a rocks glass over ice with a slice of lime on the rim, and sip it slow. and you'll think, "wow i am the biggest faggot to have ever lived". and you know what? you're right.

When I was young I had this book called people who work at night and as a little kid it was really comforting to know that there were people awake while I was asleep (especially bakers for some reason).

wore my thigh high boots on a walk today and we had to take a path through some long grass and while everyone else was rolling their pants into their socks and putting on jackets to protect themselves from ticks i was standing there smug as hell in my thigh high leather boots.

a hoe never gets lyme disease

i love the phrase "which could mean nothing" i think its my favorite thing to come out of the internet ever i love saying it. it could mean nothing but we all know better. we know the truth.

excuse me, no I wasn't???

congratulations to today’s lucky 10000

Schwarzenegger winning seemed like the most embarrassing thing that would ever happen in politics at the time and now he’s to the left of every elected Republican and a few Democrats and just makes videos going “young men, my fadda was a Nazi and he was a contemptible loosah”

listen to me: you can love and support trans men and trans women at the same time. you can love and support transmasc and transfemmes at the same time. you do not have to make things into this-or-that decisions. you do not have to turn everything into us-vs-them, friend-vs-enemy, sports team ass dynamics. transfems and transmascs are not at opposite ends of ANYTHING, and we will never, ever be enemies or polar sides that cannot intersect or co-exist peacefully. you can support more than one type of trans person and distribute that support equally. i promise you fucking can.
