When Superbaby does it, he's an adorable little orphan alien, but when I, Lex Luthor—
Humans have really bad hearing by galactic standards, with a notably limited frequency range. However, that also means they're completely immune to common sonic weapons that most other species find debilitating.
Humans also have a really poor sense of smell by galactic standards, to the point where it's a little bit of a running joke. If you're in the field with a human, you can safely assume they didn't pick up whatever that important scent was.
In the era where the GLs were operating in pairs, there were two that nobody realized were from the same species bc the sexual dimorphism between them was so extreme.
Also, I will always love the Ungarans earliest appearance, which was uniformly hairless regardless of sex/gender. I still write Arin Sur as matching the Ungarans as originally depicted, with a very soft, round face and no hair.
There's a kind of spider-inspired alien dude from Sector Whatever who is about the same size as the rest of the cast. And one day he's like "come meet my wife!" and she's like 30 feet tall.

I've seen headcanons that Sinestro purrs and I've seen headcanons that Barry purrs and so now I'm designing a headcanon around Hal gravitating to guys that purr.
Hal is like, "You can purr?!" and Barry is like, "I'm sorry. :( It's weird, isn't it?" :( and Hal is like, "Nah, Sin purred too!" and Barry takes 2d6 psychic damage.
Actually I feel like I could do something with this. I really like HalBarry but I never write it bc they're so good and wholesome that I don't have much to say! But this could be fun.
seen a lot of people talking about fanon stuff specifically irt dc recently and i have to say i think it really comes down to a lot of people just… not caring about comics as a medium. which sucks imo! comics are such a unique and special format for storytelling and i really just think a lot of these stories or characters don’t hit the same when you divorce them from that context. which is where i think a lot of the stuff i’ve seen people talk about comes from… like sure you can look at panels posted online or read through a character’s wikipedia article and know all of the technical canon about them but i think that by not reading the comics you’re robbing yourself of smth very special... i really love when you can tell people who talk about these things have a real love for & knowledge of the medium and its history
Tell me you don't read the comics without telling me you don't read the comics...
Also, why do so many of these weird OOC posts seem really obsessed with the idea that nobody knows who the bats are and Gotham is some kind of hermit kingdom and the batfam is an elite cult within it? And that everyone in the JL absolutely hates one another?
when I pointed that out I admit was pretty frustrated and it bled through to my reblog of that post but then op ignored my apologies, deleted one of them, said ‘hit that blockity block button I’m not responsible for curating your blog experience. don’t tell me what to put on my blog’ and then went and argued with two other bloggers just to say that they felt attacked. i apologized PROFUSELY I can’t do it man. Why do I have to block them specifically when it was already explained that it is a fandom wide problem and not just them secretly.
I’m gonna turn into the joker
I think you can kind of theorize that if OP is the sort of person who would write this garbage in the first place, they're also the sort of person who isn't going to care when they're told that they're spamming a fandom tag that isn't theirs.
Also, going forward, if I discuss Batman posts in other non-Batman tags, I'm going to be using the batspam tag, so if you don't want to see these screenshots (and I really don't blame you!) feel free to block #batspam
On this subject, anyone feel like we should have a community or server for GL tag cleanup efforts?
going down a non bat superhero tag be like: Batman post, Batman post, Batman post that explicitly belittles the tagged superhero, more disrespect, post that doesn’t even mention the tag but says justice league in it, GOOD POST, good analysis but somehow still about Batman, ship art with Batman, post that has nothing to do with the tag or the fandom, the most incorrect take you’ve ever heard, more disrespect, take based on a spin-off animated show that hated he character, GOOD ART, just a genuinely confusing take, Batman post, Batman post, Batman post.
need everyone to fully understand how real this is
To further prove this point, this is first page of the Lois Lane tag, sorted by Top, so what Tumblr considers the most popular posts in the tag; note that I usually do not have batfam tags filtered but did so as an example here:
Notice how the top 3 posts are about Batman? that there's a post that's gifs of the Batman movie and one of Clark from the trailer and no Lois, that wasn't tagged with Batman or Bruce Wayne to filter it out? That the number of posts with Batman in them outnumber the posts that don't have him in them?
This has been especially dire in the Clark Kent tag lately, since at least half of the discussion around the Superman 2025 trailer has been about how to shoehorn Batman in. Again, this is the top page of the Clark Kent tag:
two entire posts that are not about Batman! wow! such riches!
bringing this back.

had a dream i had to say the pledge of allegiance in front of a ton of people but i froze up and said the green lantern oath instead
it’s some kind of school event i’m under this big tent on the grass in front of my old high school and there are like four hundred of my classmates in folding chairs in the audience and i’m standing up at the front behind a wooden podium like an asshole all drenched in sweat going “I pledge allegiance…to the flag….in brightest day…….in…..blackest night”
