I love how in your latest comic, Opportunist just. collapses. on the floor, with Skeptic’s dead body.

Something something it’s at the moment we see him lean his head in, like he wants to give and receive affection from the headless body, and the head is what’s gone, the one part he can’t lean against and hold, though he can match body to body with everything else, the head, the person, is what’s missing though the body remains

something something the head was what contained Skeptic’s thinking mind and also symbolizes & contained his entire personality

smthn smthn the body, the empty shell, the facade is all yours, but the person is gone

smthn smthn just like how if Opportunist had held himself back during their entire relationship, and/or killed him in the end, then it was always a facade, an act, just like the headless dance he’s doing now, then the other person— the connection— the one you’re performing a relationship with was never really there—

or if it was real, who knows— it retroactively becomes a facade, because of Opportunist killing him— all because of Opportunist—

Something something Opportunist breaks and tips over, which tips over the body, because there’s no one else there now, the only person to keep up the same facade, the same dance, is him, alone, now—

Opportunist breaks the minute his head doesn’t find anything to match and nuzzle, and hold to— and Opportunist and Skeptic were always of two different minds, Oppy scheming and holding himself at a distance and refusing to trust Skeptic, they were always unmatched in their mentality in their dance, of course there’s no head for him to hold onto—

Smthn smthn the reminder the other person isn’t there, was never really there, is an empty space where the head used to be, and Opportunist defines and prides himself on his scheming until he’s alone in his mental palace of being on top…

And Skeptic always prides and defines himself on his cerebral pursuits and ability as well, their heads are defining for both of them, so it’s extra appropriate…

And it’s the head Opportunist leans in to give and receive affection from, he wants the real Skeptic, but he can’t have it, because of himself, maybe he never could even before if the above possibility is true

And it’s the moment the loneliness crashes in and Opportunist collapses on top of the body, always on top, the one manipulating, the guy in control, and the one in charge of this empty dance now

And him collapsing on the body, embracing it for comfort, is him looking for comfort from his own body, from the feeling of holding and the imitation of being held, not from his head. (Or from talking to the other guy, from bouncing off the other person’s personality.)

And even though Opportunist’s head and mentality has won out in destroying the relationship, Opportunist can’t ignore his “gut” feelings of loneliness, those body-associated feelings are what’s keeping him dancing with a corpse, keeping up the facade

This got longer than I expected but y’know if I actually have energy to analyze and put it into words I’m not gonna waste the opportunity
