I have this slightly silly au idea where all of the Swords are ai made to study the inpherno and inphernals.

They were created by Builderman and Shedletsky (Shedletsky made the concept and chose their gears, Builderman made their models and personalities)

You know how illumina (i think. I dunno i forgot) said that they were "abandoned" by their creators? Nah, they weren't really abandoned (i guess). Builderman and Shedletsky just kinda stopped communicating with them and is currently just passively collecting data from what they're doing.

To be honest, this is just an excuse for Sword, Valk, Dom, and Banhammer angst(?) because image finding out your parents/mentor is an ai. I would be very devastated

Btw, this au is based of the BuilderAI headcanon/theory(???) from the forsaken comunity so yeagh -u\\

This isn't exactly an AU, more of a fic idea I lowk don't know where to post but here:

A hitchhiker's guide to the Inpherno (heavy inspo from The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy)

A book written by our favorite hiker, Traffic! After visiting many parts of the Inpherno and exploring most nooks and crannies that aren't completely illegal, he decides that writing a manual on what to visit and what not to do while visiting certain factions would be funny, and also a quick buck!

The reader is one of the not so many adventurers who decided to buy the book. It contains a lot of random stuff: Historical and geographical sites to visit, what to be aware of, random stories from Traffic every few pages, what to and not do while visiting certain factions, reccomendations for equipment and souvenirs, and of course, how to save a ton of money on things!

It also sometimes mentions other characters in 'Stories from Traffic'(a section every 5 pages to keep the reader entertained), most commonly being Ghosdeeri and Lightblox.

Can be combined with pretty much any other non-apocalypse au.

someone please write something like this I'm begging you Traffic has so much potential as an unreliable narrator

Okay so I was making notes for the fanfic (as one does) and I came up with four characters that are essentially the leaders of each faction.

Ghostfire: Harden war vet, Subspace's caretaker and leader of Blackrock.

Party Cannon: Also a war vet but they are super chill and leader of Playground

Azure Periastron: Leader of Thieves Den tbh I don't have much of a personality for them other than he is very involved with her faction (also any pronouns too)

Crescendo: Leader of Lost Temple that may or may not be funding the church of the true eye a bit.

And yeah they got affected by the swap too, Ghost got Party got swapped and Azure and Crescendo got swapped.

I don't have much in mind for them for the au rn, just kinda there to make the world feel more fleshed out.

Except Ghostfire, I have some ideas in mind so if you would let me ramble:

As I put in her mini description, Ghostfire was a war vet more specifically from the great faction war. If you went up against her during that time then just prepare to see Ghostwalker later lol.

After the war she soon rose up to become Blackrock's leader. She made it clear that technological advancement was her goal, especially to the military.

When Subspace was a child she saw great potential in him as he had always been very smart and had a talent for robotics, so she took him under her wing and essentially became his caretaker.

So you bet that Subspace was really conflicted when she threatened to take everything from him while he still worked for Blackrock after gaining the Darkheart.

Like this was essentially his mum but she was also kind of a bad parent, not abusive but controlling, and he kind of soon realized he was being brainwashed most of his life so uh existential crisis for Subspace because tormenting him is fun/j.

By this point in the story he hasn't fully spiraled into madness (I mean he's close) so he doesn't kill Ghostfire and just flees Blackrock and just has a crisis alone somewhere before saying, "Screw it! I'm literally a God now so why tf do I have to listen to anyone!" And oops there goes the last of Subspace's sanity! Surprised he still had some left/j

Yeah this ramble kinda went off the rails but hell I doubt I'd be here if Cap didn't present me the idea of giving Subspace a SFOTH sword and letting him be evil and stuff. (Jk this is so fun to think about).

Hey, there’s nothing wrong with that! This probably won’t work with everyone, but this is what I personally do when I wanna make a new AU: for the most part, I think of tropes that I could use.

No shocker here, but I’m a fan of zombie/zombie-like apocalypse AUs. I’ve made many virus AUs for other medias I’m a fan of, so it wasn’t too hard to think up a Phighting version. And for my Follower AU, I thought “hey. If Follower Sword is Illumina’s follower, then what would other deity followers be like?” Asking yourself ‘what if ____?’ can definitely help.

TLDR: think about tropes that you like, and ask yourself ‘what if this happened?’. I’m sure the other mods can give you some tips, too.

Good luck on your AU-making journey!

personally I love making AUs based off of specific genres/combinations of genres (current favorite ones to play around with are cyberpunk, science fantasy, high fantasy, and isekai)!

I like making AUs where existential crises come as a second package :D
