Poster advertising a Phil Ochs concert at the Berkeley Community Theatre, 1970.
are there any other known drawings of Phil done during his lifetime?? I haven’t found much in my searching, just the obvious few (like the gunfight at carnegie hall cover) maybe I’m not looking hard enough 😅
Hi! Sadly I can't think of many right now, only a couple. I'll try to go through my Phil stuff more closely tomorrow or whenever I have time to see if I happen to have more. But for now I can share these:
60s anti-folk pamphlet (sorry for the terrible quality), that is "geared towards tearing down the reputation of Columbia Records, as well as that of Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, Phil Ochs and Malvina Reynolds." I think the kneeling guy is supposed to be Phil

Ad for a benefit he did in 1969
16 Magazine Sing Along ad. Saw this one on one of Tori's accounts, they said they think the person between Cher and Leonard Nimoy is probably Phil, and I agree. He may not look like a teen idol, but he did appear in that magazine once or twice
And this last piece was published not during Phil's lifetime, but shortly after, in October issue of Esquire Magazine
Poster for the Conspiracy Stomp, a benefit for the Chicago Eight held in Aragon in 1969, featuring Phil Ochs, Abbie Hoffman, Bob Gibson & more. Art by Ron Cobb
See the book on the left, which is most probably Mao's Little Red Book. A nice detail I'll admit I haven't noticed at first. And the woman's wearing a hammer and sickle brooch/pin

These ones are better quality, but sadly with the Getty label. You can see my attempt in blurring it out below them, but it's not really much better, I have no idea how to edit pictures
