Did some math and made some assumptions

Golding first started writing LOTF in 1951, and it would make sense to assume the story takes place that year Holden Caulfield was 13 in 1946, so CITR takes place in 1949, when he was 16 Phoebe was 10 in 1949, so she would have been 12 in 1951 Phoebe is the same age as Ralph (+ the other biguns)

(If we assume LOTF takes place in 1954, the year it was published, Phoebe would be 15 then and 3 years older. but this is more fun)
