I WANNA KILL THE LIGHTS .

โธบใ…คi'd move so fast that i'd outpace the dawn .

ANYA [สŒn.ja:ย ] ; s!her, 20's, anxious, sleep deprived, collector of tears and recipient of pitchforks. this blog contains nsfw & dark content. certified zhongli, jing yuan and feixiao kisser ( the filthiest, 'i will surgically analyze you' kind. ) in the midst of my blade denial arc.

In the spirit of encouraging people to comment on fanfics while also making it easier to do so, I feel obliged to share a browser extension for ao3 that has quite literally revolutionized the comment game for me.

I present to you: the floating ao3 comment box!

From what I've seen, a big problem for many people is that once you reach the comments at the bottom of a fic, your memory of it miraculously disappears. Anything you wanted to say is stuck ten paragraphs ago, and you barely remember what you thought while reading. This fixes that!

I'll give a little explanation on the features and how it works, but if you want to skip all that, here's the link.

Edit: Yes, this also works on mobile!

The extension is visible as a small blue box in the upper left corner.

(Side note: The green colouring is not from the extension, that's me.)

If you click on it, you open a comment box window at the bottom of your screen but not at the bottom of the fic. I opened my own fic for demonstrative purposes.

The website also gives explanations on how exactly it functions, but I'll summarize regardless.

  • insert selection -> if you highlight a sentence in the fic it will be added in italics to the comment box
  • add to comment box -> once you're done writing your comment, you click this button and the entire thing will automatically copied to the ao3 comment box
  • delete -> self explanatory
  • on mulitchapter fics, you will be given the option to either add the comment to just the current chapter or the entire fic

The best part? You can simply close the window the same way you opened it and your progress will automatically be saved. So you can open it, comment on a paragraph, and then close it and keep reading without having the box in your face.

Comments are what keep writers going, and as both a writer and a reader, I think it's such an easy way of showing support and enthusiasm.

  • syn. while the divine war rages on, you find yourself entangled in the company of a wounded god and reservations or not, you don't have the heart to let someone die on your watch.

TW. โธบ beta read, long oneshot like seriously it's over 14k, mentions of war and past death, seclusion and wounds. this work contains 18+ contents so minors, you know the drill, unprotected sex, half-dragon zhongli, reader has no gendered pronouns but has female parts, 4k words worth of smut guys get ready.

Curiosityย , you learned, was a reckless maverick in every right. Your mother told you of its consequences, of the people who wandered too far from the safety of your village and the watchful eye of your deity, and she told you of their death and the disaster they reaped alongside it.

Curiosity was what cost youย โ€” and youย knewย , youย knewย better than to indulge in its traitorous little tug when you wake, the scent of petrichor in abundance and the chill of a rainstormโ€™s aftermath prickling your skin.ย

โ€œForget about it.โ€ you tell yourself when you rub the sleep out of your eyes.ย

  • I. DEATHBED

โ€œWe have another one.โ€ The receptionist echoes out from the front desk.

Another one. The words still the twitch in your muscles, the incessant cleaning and arranging and scrubbing away blood from medical chairs and forceps that should not be here. There are thoughts in your head. Theyโ€™re dangerous ones, lingering in places that are grimy and soaked in something tarred. They should not be there.

Another one and thatโ€™s enough to coat your stomach with ugly, stifling coldness. You donโ€™t reply, keep your eyes down and let the man walk in.
