I still think it's funny that for literally years the entirety of Golden Ryan's canon appearance was just being mildly suspicious, standing around looking pretty, and then loudly declaring that he would never dare get in the way of true love before riding off on his motorcycle

Also funny how the implication in the movie was "this is a professional reality TV guy ad libbing the best possible narrative beat for this specific moment" and then his season 2 characterization is like haha yeah no. He really meant that shit. He was so profoundly moved by the power of love and friendship being displayed in that moment that he just had to say something. And then he rode off on his motorcycle.

in the 2003 romantic comedy film how to lose a guy in 10 days, matthew mcconaughey's character casually calls his male colleague and friend "kitty cat," and in return, that man calls him "daddy," yet they are both straight. alternatively, this same character is upset when his girlfriend decides to name his penis "princess sophia" because it's not a masculine name. thus, viewers can conclude that while his character is comfortable with his sexuality, his sense of gender identity is fragile, supporting the idea that gender and sexuality are two separate things which do not necessarily depend on each other, a fact that we as a society were aware of in 2003, yet seem to have largely forgotten 20 years later.

And because I can't make myself wait until later
