maybe i'm being overly negative but it makes me uneasy not knowing how many of the moderators in the official server are actually involved with sleep token's marketing team/RCA. in this instance it's relatively harmless since they're just trying to gather fans in one space to discuss clues but on the other...i don't know. something about it rubs me the wrong way. dumping thousands of people into an already massive server on short notice will cause a host of technical issues and this puts a lot of pressure on the unpaid mods of the server to do the legwork for them.

i know sleep token has always been a band that thrives on mystery but the lack of transparency here leaves me both suspicious and wary.

i've always been of the opinion that there should be a firm separation between fans and the band itself. i want to be a little freak as far away as possible from anyone actually involved in sleep token as a project. i don't want them trying to gauge how to best squeeze hype and/or money out of me.

Just one note: as of right now the Discord server in question is not official (as in "made by and/or run by RCA"). It's fan owned and fan run and has been the whole time (5+ years?). Maybe RCA is planning on taking it over, I don't know, but as of right now, status quo is it's unofficial, fan started, fan owned, and fan run.

i'm aware it's owned by fans for now. but seeing as how this recent clue was delivered directly to the subreddit and discord via the server's bot mod (aptly named vessel), i'm left questioning how much contact those fans have with some potential liaison that works for sleep token.

of course i'm not accusing sleep token of muscling in on fan spaces where they're not wanted or anything. i doubt they have significant input or communication with the mods, but i don't know, and that's what makes me uneasy.

it's like partnership programs that companies offer to "influencers" or content creators. there's potential here for more...capitalistic purposes, expertly masked under the guise of fandom engagement.

or maybe i'm being too paranoid. idk. i just like knowing where the line is drawn with big, bold ink.

This is not an exhaustive list of everywhere you can buy fabric, or even a full list of where I shop. There are SO many options out there in the world. You also need to think outside the fabric store box. I thrift men's shirt fabrics for quilts and sheets for backing fabric. I don't do a ton of in person thrifting and my local stores don't get a lot of craft materials but every thrift store is its own universe and reflects the community it is in. Go out and find something cool.

Oh and final note: Don't shop at Hobby Lobby.

Ugh, this is so embarrassing! I’ve just been getting this vibe recently that everyone is making fun of me behind my back. Like they’re always whispering to each other about how ugly I am. Maybe I’m being totally paranoid, but sometimes I’ll pull up at a stop sign and notice people staring at me and laughing, and I could swear they’re saying mean things about me under their breath. like it doesn’t matter if a person is so fat they’re immobile & have infections in their skin folds & need assistance with everything from hygiene to cooking to cleaning etc. they should still get good medical care.

the fattest person you possibly imagine still deserves medical care. it also doesn’t matter why they’re fat, even if that person got fat because all they did was eat and eat without ever exercising, they still deserve medical care.
