I love that Matt was so giddy about having kissed Karen at the end of s2e4 that he just didn't notice that Elektra was in his apartment at first

He is so cuteee here. I love how the writers are always like: hmm we let him smile this episode, now it's time to ruin his life.

Also this moment is a reminder to everyone that matt is a blind man who is not aware of his surroundings at all time, that he has to make an active effort for that.

"this moment is a reminder to everyone that matt is a blind man who is not aware of his surroundings at all times, that he has to make an active effort for that".

Yeah that's also why I like this moment!!!

So many people think Matt having super senses just erases the fact that he's blind when um no it doesn't.

I once saw someone say, "Why does Matt continue to hold onto Foggy's arm in s2? It's not like he needs to." Like bro maybe because it's easier for him to do that instead of putting his brain into overtime just so he can walk down a busy sidewalk.

It really says a lot about how society views disabled people. People think that because a disabled person can technically complete a task without accomodations, they must not need those accomodations at all and thus are not actually disabled. I've this so many times on the internet with ambulatory wheelchair users and ADHD/autistic people and it's so fucking frustrating.

I've seen way too many people take this conversation between Matt and Foggy in s1e1:

Matt: "How would I even know if she's a beautiful woman?"

Foggy: "I don't know. It's kind of spooky actually. But if there's ever a stunning woman with questionable character, Matt Murdock is gonna find her and Foggy Nelson is gonna suffer."

As like proof that Matt "isn't actually blind". Like you guys, that's the fucking joke. The fact that all the women Matt falls for just happen to also be incredibly hot is meant to be funny.

Also, have y'all seen Matt? Of course he's constantly getting gorgeous women, he's gorgeous himself!

I find Oscar Isaac having played Steven as autistic especially fascinating to think about for one particular reason.

See the way autism works in a DID system is that if one alter is autistic then all of them should be autistic (although it may present differently). So, if Steven is autistic then so should Marc (and Jake but we've barely seen him so far so I'm not gonna talk about him). Oscar Isaac didn't say anything about Marc, so I'm guessing that he didn't know about this fact and didn't intend to play him as autistic.

But despite this... Marc does still actually come off as autistic.

Like it's clear that Oscar Issac played Marc as a guy suffering from PTSD and internalized ableism in regards to his DID to the point that he's now closing himself off. But it can also be interpreted as an autistic man who is burnt out and struggling to mask and is thus trying to close himself off and push everyone away.

Okay there's one thing I have not been able to get out of my mind while rewatching Daredevil and it's so funny to me.

So, Stick is the reason Matt knows how to fight and do those ninja moves and whatever. But Stick was only with him for like a couple months. They did show Matt getting into fights after Stick left but Matt said he stopped doing that because he knew that's what his dad would've wanted. So, he presumably just didn't use/revisit anything that Stick taught him until he decided to become Daredevil in his mid 20s.

They do show him going to the gym so I guess it makes sense that he would still know how to punch but bro are you practicing those crazy ass flips there too?

Like I just imagine Matt sitting in his apartment one day once he decided he was serious about this Daredevil shit and thinking "ok what did Stick teach me nearly two decades ago?". 😭

I've been thinking a lot about my headcanons for how much Marc and Steven know about them being autistic.

I've seen some fanfics portray Marc as knowing he's autistic because he was actually diagnosed as a child, meanwhile Steven is completely in the dark about it.

And honestly I don't agree with this. Firstly, I personally don't think they're diagnosed autistic. Marc was born in 1987, so he grew up in the 90s. We all know this was back when everyone had a narrow idea of what autism looks like and thought that only white boys could be autistic. So, yeah I doubt that Marc would've gotten a diagnosis as a child.

I especially doubt he would've gotten one after his brother died. Because aside from physically and verbally abusing him, it seems like Marc's mom was basically not in his life. I doubt Wendy even bothered to take Marc to regular doctor's appointments. And it seems like Marc's dad, Elias, just tried to ignore that there were any problems within their family. The show gave us that memory of teen Marc calling out and asking Elias why he never bothered to get help for Wendy and try to fix things. So yeah, I doubt that Elias would've even fully entertained the idea that Marc is autistic.

And as for adult Marc. I mean, come on guys. Marc literally hated himself for being mentally ill, I doubt he'd want to explore what other fun things might be going on in his brain.

So yeah I don't think that Marc truly knows he's autistic. But Steven, in my opinion, is a different case.

I like to think that Steven just googled some shit like "why do I come off as socially awkward?", stumbled upon some sources about autism and was like "oh wait, is this me?". He can't afford to get a diagnosis, so he just spent weeks doing his own research while constantly second guessing himself by thinking, "does this really describe me or am I just over thinking it?", before eventually concluding "ok I'm not crazy, I definitely am autistic. Good thing to know I guess."

What I love about Daredevil is that sometimes it's incredibly grounded and then sometimes it's completely unserious and it's all just hilarious to think about.

In the first season it's just like "ok we have a blind guy with heightened senses who at night is a vigilante trying to take down a mob boss". Like ok that could happen. But then they're like "yeah and btw the reason he knows how to fight is because an old blind guy came to the orphanage he was at. Also there are these human weapons called the 'Black Sky' which we will not elaborate on". It's like, um what? But it's one episode so who cares really.

Then s2 again starts pretty grounded where they're like "ok here's a guy who's doing mass murders on gangs because his family was killed and we have to stop and get justice for him in the legal system". Again that could happen. But then it's also like "now we have to fight this secret underground army of super ninjas". Again um what? 😭

And then s3 is just completely grounded. The only really ridiculous thing I can think of in this season is Poindexter's 100% pinpoint accuracy with throwing shit but hey the main character of this show is a guy who got heightened senses after getting chemicals in his eyes so it's not really that farfetched.

I haven't watched Daredevil: Born Again yet because I haven't finished rewatching all of the Daredevil stuff. But I saw a clip where Matt says, "He wasn't in possession of his mystical amulet". So yeah, super glad to see we're going back to the unserious 🤣.

Okay since the teaser came out I've been watching a few YouTube videos to learn about the Fantastic Four and what their characters are like in the comics.

And holy shit I cannot wait to see this movie now. Mainly because I'll have another MCU character to hardcore headcanon as autistic and then obsess over because of that headcanon.

Like here's a long ass quote of what one YouTuber, The Whole Shebang, said about Reed Richards' character:

"Obsessed with finding ways to solve all of life's problems through science. Fueled by an innate curiosity for the world... He could talk your ear off about quantum physics or the way the universe works but struggles with simple things like small talk and interpersonal interactions. Reed is straightforward and honest almost to a fault but he only ever has everyone's best interests in mind. He often gets lost in his work and stretches himself way too thin with how hyperfocused he gets on things. If anything he's too smart for his own good but his family is there to support him and keep him grounded.... He's really just a wholesome nerd... In a way he's a subversion of the 'careless genius trope'".

Guys this definitely sounds like an autistic character to me. And I noticed that in the teaser, Pedro Pascal has this interesting inflection to his voice which is also ringing the "omg this dude is autistic" alarm bells for me.

yknow, i just rewatched the first captain america. it’s insane how we never got a solo bucky movie that showed his descent into becoming the winter soldier. marvel really missed out on what could’ve been the most emotionally charged thriller— but instead we got scarlet witch going insane and turning evil…

I sorta understand why they didn't go for that. What happened to Bucky is pretty dark and brutal and they knew they couldn't make a whole project about it that still had a pg 13 rating. Would've been hard to make a family friendly movie about a guy being brutally tortured, brainwashed, and possibly even SA'd.

Plus, I feel like making a movie like this would've kinda felt like torture/trauma porn? Like we know what Bucky has gone through, we don't need a 2 hour movie showing it all in super graphic detail.

But damn Marvel you couldn't have even shown us flashbacks? Outside of that one scene in Winter Soldier and the beginning of Civil War we just aren't really shown at all what Bucky has been through. Like in FATWS they say that he has nightmares but the only one they ever show is of him killing someone as the Winter Soldier. Now it makes sense that it's something that Bucky would have nightmares about but are we not gonna address the trauma he's endured from being tortured? I think it took like twenty years before HYDRA was able to break Bucky enough to become the Winter Soldier we know today. Are we not gonna even address that verbally Marvel?

I was thinking about s4e4 of The Boys, you know when Homelander gets revenge on the scientists that tortured and experimented on him when he was a child.

Ever since we first heard about Homelander's childhood back in s1, I had always wondered about the why.

So, what really got me thinking was Barbara's explanation for why no one stood up for Homelander. She claims that they were scared. Now for a second I thought she was saying that they were scared of what Vought would do to them if they disobeyed orders. But no, Barbara says that they were scared of Homelander, telling an anecdote of how Homelander killed his bio mother, three doctors, and a nurse when he was born.

This just raised more questions for me. Because surely, if you're afraid of this child and you're scared that he might harm you, wouldn't it have been better if you treated him nicely? Like Homelander killed all of you in this ep because of how you treated him. Being nice and caring and standing up for him probably would've made it less likely for him to harm you.

Also, many people, including Barbara, say that they were "just following orders". But we know that's not completely true. Not after hearing Homelander's story about Marty. Because what Marty did wasn't "just him doing his job". What Marty did was unnecessary, gross, and cruel. And although Marty is the only example of this that the show presents, I'm personally inclined to believe that he wasn't the only one who treated Homelander this way. So why? Why did they treat him this way?

And that brought me back to the "they were scared" line. And I think I get it now. They treated Homelander the way they did so they could have a sense of power over him, to lessen their fear so they could just get the job done and create the "perfect product". By dehumanizing him, by refusing to see him as the child he was, by distancing themselves from him physically and mentally, they could get by. And then on top of that they conditioned him to be desperate for their love and attention to hopefully insure that he would never harm them. Like Jesus Christ.

Also just a little extra tangent. I'm also fascinated by Barbara's comment on Homelander never escaping. She says "you could've broken out of here anytime you wanted but you didn't". At first, I thought she was straight up victim blaming and that was it. But then she goes on to say that she knows why Homelander didn't leave, because he didn't want to disappoint them which they specifically conditioned him for. The way she says it, her tone of voice, it feels like she's saying "yeah we fucked you up and there's nothing you can do about it" or "yeah we fucked you up but you just weren't strong enough to overcome it so I guess you have no one else to blame but yourself".

This pisses me off so bad because bro even if you hadn't conditioned him, Homelander was a kid with no clue about the outside world and whether he could survive in it. And don't lie to me, even if your asses couldn't have stopped Homelander from escaping I know Vought definitely would've fought hard to get him back. And you probably could've since you had and still have a fuck ton of adult supes on your rosters.

Okay I adore the loser vibes that John Walker is giving off in the Thunderbolts trailers.

Alexei: "We are the Thunderbolts!"

Bucky [looking so fucking done]: "Can't call ourselves that"

Walker: "Oh thank god!"

Like bro wants to be Bucky, he wants to be the grumpy straightman of the team but he's not.

Ava: "Pretty ludicrous coming from the dime-store Captain America"

Walker: "I'll have you know I was actually the official Captain America"

Yelena: "Yeah for like two seconds"

Seriously I need this whole movie to just be him being made fun of 🤣.
