What is Radiant Emperor Week?

Radiant Emperor Week is a fun, casual, week-long celebration of the wonderful world of the Radiant Emperor duology and all our favorite characters!

When is the event?

July or August - VOTE HERE for a specific week!

Radiant Emperor Week will take place the week of August 25th-31st!

How does it work?

Prompt Submissions will occur March 20th to March 27th - submit prompts here!

Prompt Voting will occur March 31st to April 6th - vote here!

Prompts will be released April 7th to help get the creativity and excitement flowing! Tag this blog and #RadiantEmperorWeek 2025 or #REW2025 and we'll reblog it so everyone can see your wonderful creations!

What counts as a creation?

Anything and everything! Fics, art, blackout poetry, meta, podfic, headcanons, moodboards, playlists--as long as you made it and it's about the Radiant Emperor duology, we'd love to see it!

Are there any rules or guidelines?

Sure!

  1. Don't be a dick. This means ship and let ship, don't like don't read, no kink-shaming, no forcing your headcanons on others, no racism, no transphobia, etc. We want this to be a fun and positive experience for all.
  2. Tag accurately.
  3. Please add image descriptions to submissions and otherwise consider accessibility with respect to scene breaks, text formatting, etc.
  4. Spoiler/label all NSFW content using tumblr's community labels and the appropriate labels on AO3, if your work is cross-posted there.

FTH 2025 auctions are open for bidding!

Remember:

  • Bids placed before 8am EST on Feb 25 or after 8pm EST March 1 are NOT valid (please let us know if you see an early bid and we'll delete it)
  • The tag page is the easiest way to find auctions within your fandom. This post explains how to search multiple tags at once.
  • The auction-tracking spreadsheet we shared last year will not work for this year's auctions, but here is an updated version! Make your own copy of the '2025 FTH Watchlist Template' and replace the example auction info with the details of the offers you want to track. Copy and paste the formula that checks the auctions for bid data into as many rows as you need.
  • Unfortunately, notifications are NOT working for individual auctions this year, so please check those bid sheets regularly.

It's here! The Fandom Trumps Hate charity auction listings are officially live, with auctions opening February 25 and running until March 1st!

Fandom Trumps Hate is back for its ninth year!

FTH is an annual fanworks auction that raises money for a number of small, progressive nonprofits: organizations that support trans rights, that advocate for immigrants and refugees, that protect pollinators and work on habitat restoration, support people seeking abortions, and more. (You can see the full list of 2025 organizations here.)

There are two ways to participate in Fandom Trumps Hate:

  1. sign up to create fanworks. Fan creators are the ones who make the auction happen by offering their time and talents to other fans. You'll have space to tell potential bidders what kinds of things you're especially excited to create, as well as what kinds of things fall outside your sphere of interest or comfort. You'll also have the chance to narrow down the list of organizations that your auction will support, if you feel strongly about a couple of causes in particular. Signups are open through February 2nd. You have the full year to create your piece for your bidder!
  2. bid on creators who are offering to make Radiant Emperor fanworks. Is there a tumblr shitpost you'd love to see turned into a fic? A scene in your head you'd love to see captured in art? A fic you'd love to get a culture picker or translation or beta reader for? Bidding on another fan creator is a great way to make that happen! If you win an auction for a given creator's work, you'll make a donation to one of the organizations that creator has identified, and then you and that creator can get started dreaming up the fanwork that will hit your sweet spots. Bidding will be run from February 25th to March 1st.

This will be the first year the Radiant Emperor Duology is listed! Right now there is one listing, and it would be amazing to see more :)

If you are a lover of Radiant Emperor fic and art and crafts and pod fics any other kind of fanwork, please consider signing up as a creator, or taking part as a bidder!

The Chinese New Year is approaching and you're invited to treat it as an opportunity to think about how the Radiant Emperor characters would celebrate this or other festivals! If you would like to create something for the event, we suggest the prompts "reunion", "celebration" and "snake", as it will be the Year of the Snake 🐍

And if you have something cooking on the brain back burner already - bring it in! What better way to start a new year than a little airing of the WIP folder?
