"I am what I am."
Smth smth "You guys like Religious imagery?".
I need to talk about this. Scene.
I always saw Dante as Jesus kinda. So this always made me really excited but I also really like the implications of this scene in general its implying that even after everything he will always be expected to take care of the people around him. Even situation where he is overwhelmed and pretty much persumed dead, he is the one everybody is betting on even Patty goes to find him not to check up on him or to save him but to be saved. Yes she apologizes to him because she thinks its her fault. Yes i understand shes a child. But still its so interesting to me. I mean even Lady and Trish arent worried. They know hes going to be fine they know. Hes going to save the day. I get it that hes the main Character and thats literally his job but. Yk. THATS THE POINT. ITS INTERESTING HOW THE OTHERS ACKNOWLEDGE IT. Because they arent meant to. We have an outside perspectiv we. Know. They dont. Its an endless Cycle of him saving everybody you could say. Hes taking Pattys sins on himself huh? This is just a very good scene and I like more confirmation of the things i write. He has a huge saviour Complex because thats litreally his purpouse he is meant to save the world. He is meant to. He has no other choice but to. So maybe its not a complex at all. Maybe hes just the saviour maybe he will forever care about the people around him even if they dont cut him any slack .
But hey thats just a theory. A devil may cry theory.
No one will ever think of him. No one will take care of him. Jesus saves but who will save him from the cross. Who will rescue him. At least Jesus had his mother's arms to fall dead into, no one is waiting arms open for the repetitive savior of the entire planet.
No one.
God loves his children
"I am slow of speech and slow of tongue. See, I have set before you this day life and good, death and evil... I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; therefore choose life."
Predator eyes and emotional unbalance. Primal hunger of unknown origin. Religious psychosis and mockery. Blood of the innocent he swallows with fevor, never having drank from a spring. Feel pity on him as you control his violence to progress further than he could have ever wanted.
Devil may Cry Oc
Roshna! Shes the doctor at the Local Hospital she grew up in Redgrave but then Later moved to a bigger City whit her family (5 siblings and divorced parents yikes) she takes care of Civillians during Catastrophies (like in dmc 3 or 5) Shes very Empathetic, a sworn Pacifist and a certified Girly girl i dont know i feel like we should have more Human Ocs.
Shes based on a mix and Mash of diffrent Bollywood movies
“With eyes of light more bright than any star, / in low, soft tones she started to address me / in her own language, with an angel’s voice.”
She's our very own special Lady! That we made together.
Of selflessness and strong hearts. Healing wounds not only of flesh.
When i first watched the cutscenes for Dmc4, we had a slight dislike for Nero. Which was mostly based on the fact that he feels a lot like another Dante and didn't really fit the Games premise. I couldn't wrap my head around the fact this kid with a demon arm and white hair came around and they were like "oh yes your allowed into this church" yes. He fights demons (which could be them using him as a knight) in the beginning yes he hides it in a cast but come on. He couldn't have been doing that forever so We came up with a worse idea. (This ofc isnt hate on og Nero he has slightly grown on me as a charachter but this is just a 'darker' take on it if you wanne be edgy)
A Child washes up on the lake behind The Order of the Sword, Where Sanctus finds him, crying, blood flowing from his tiny body.
"But now mine own eyes have beheld God; but not my natural, but my spiritual eyes, for my natural eyes could not have beheld; for I should have withered and died in his presence; but his glory was upon me; and I beheld his face, for I was transfigured before him."
Kept in a place of darkness for years. Taken from God's enlightened pedestal and used as a living specimen to people who may not have the correct intentions.
The arrival of a Familiar face saves him from his fate, but not from the place he was destined to be. At least in his mind. Watch him reclaim his rightful place as the Messiah, covered in blood with the eye of God front and center. Ready to kill the first sacrificial lamb. It's what you led him to after all. It's what you did.
the reason "robot racism" is often a really stupid metaphor is the same reason that like. discrimination against demons or vampires or whatever doesn't work, is because there's often a pretty justified reasons humans are scared of vampires or robots or whatever, in a way that doesn't apply to real life minorities, like a fantasy author will be like "the reason vampires are discriminated against is because most of them and kill and eat people for fun and pleasure, and so humans respond by trying to kill them, isn't that so sad" and like no that's a perfectly fine reason to not trust vampires i think.
sci-fi writers will be like "every robot on earth randomly decided to kill all humans for no real reason, and now people don't trust robots, and this is a metaphor for racism" and like no you just wrote a metaphor for white people actually.
Honestly? The dmc anime is just an Action anime I dont really care for it it has a basic plot and moral and it handels the characters how youd expect adi shankar to i dont see the point in keep discussing its issues over and over because at the end of the day its still just . Eh.it made me upset when it came out sure.but now that the wounds healed? That shit was nothing. But. I liked the Introduction of the White Rabbit im the first episode i could just keep ranting about how it RUINED dmc but yk. I dont really think it matters. Some people liked it some people didint its human dude.for those who just wanne fuck dante and thats why they got into it? Go for it! For those now interested in the game? Yippe! But in general im just gonna keep doing my weird Au stuff. The only thing that REALLY bugs me are the designs but oh well. It just feeds off nastolgia and the hunger of the fandom
after the first immediate feeling of devastation goes away, it's just nothing. Ranting about its flaws is fun but overall? As someone with a hyper fixation for the series, the anime was nothing. It sucked, yes. but it can't be helped that people have different opinions.
Stop being aggressive about either side, you have better things to do in your lives. Eat a muffin. Or something. Stop being mean.
Making the whole theme of the DMC Netflix show that "demons are actually the victims of jingoistic American military imperialism" is such a fundamental antithesis of the entire beating heart of the Devil May Cry franchise. Honestly it's exactly what I expected from a cynical western production.
The Devil May Cry series is about how humanity is superior because humanity is capable of love. Demons may have power and strength which allows them to assert their will over the world and cause suffering. But humanity will always overcome, humanity is capable of more than demons ever will be. Because devils never cry. Only humanity has the capacity for love that allows them to feel sorrow at the loss of their loved ones. Only humanity has the drive to self sacrifice in the name of protecting those we cherish and value.
The reason Dante and Nero are the badasses that they are is because of their human genetics, not their demonic blood. Vergil loses because he tried rejecting his humanity and just embracing his demonic lineage in the name of striving for more power. Vergil loses his soul and is enslaved and humiliated because he pushes his only remaining family away, he forgot that the very reason he became obsessed with power is because he wanted to be able to protect Dante the way he couldn't on the day they lost their home. And Vergil is only redeemed when he is reclaimed by his son, and has familial love forced onto him whether he wanted it or not. The theme song of DMC5 is called LEGACY for a reason, because the ties that bind for better and for worse will always be a part of you. And it is the characters HUMANITY that makes that the case.
Family and love is the FOUNDATIONAL theme of the Devil May Cry series from the very beginning. This isn't even very depthful literary analysis, the games are incredibly blunt with these themes.
This is incredibly surface level reading. And yet somehow the creators of the Netflix show either didn't get it, or deliberately disregarded it. Either way, god awful show. If you enjoy it, you CANNOT say that you also enjoy the video games. They are mutually exclusive. What exactly do you like about the games, if you derive ANY enjoyment whatsoever from this show that uses the source material as toilet paper?
At least have the integrity to admit you just think the video games are stupid and the show is superior because it isn't a video game. At least then I could respect that. Don't try and pull this "I enjoy both" bullshit. Bullshit as in you're fucking lying.
