rain art blog

@raincoatpng

Hi, I'm Rain. I use they/them pronouns :) asks welcome! :D I have the occasional thought or two. I draw! sometimes! when I'm not sleepy.

ok I got into an argument with someone in my media class yesterday so I’m just gonna say it:

No video game should cost $70.

I’m sure the new Zelda game will be great, but no video game should cost $70. “But if you adjust for inflation, this is actually less than what the Wii games were,” cool. No video game should cost $70.

We no longer live in a world where a kid could save up their allowance for a couple months and then be able to buy a video game. Just buying one has somehow turned into such a grandiose adventure it takes all of the fun out of getting a new game.

The only possible benefit might be that, with games being so expensive, people might be more likely to pick up an indie game because those companies can’t afford to sell those games for a lot.

This is becoming normal. I used to be able to buy four ds games for $70. What the hell.

And you know damn well that Nintendo can afford it.

If the game costs $70 it should have a Disc made of gold or silver. And it should come with any and all DLCs free.

if a game costs 70$ it should be 7x as good as undertale

IF A GAME COSTS $70 IT SHOULD BE 7x AS GOOD AS UNDERTALE

Shark boyfren says hi (and asks if the fish are for him 🥺)

i'm having lots of fun drawing these.

oh btw i appreciate all the reblogs on my enkaze post!!! you guys are so nice. (i did end up learning their ship name after all)

anyway i enjoy these guys as well. the besties. hopefully the closet is comfortable... if a bit crowded.

Boycott launch date of Switch 2 and buy it the next day, June 6.

This has worked before:

When the 3DS released, it was over priced too. No one bought it so then they lowered the price!

It has happened before, it can happen again.

If you can wait even 1 day at least, or 1 week at best, it will make a difference.

Spread the news. In solidarity of those who can't buy Switch 2, those who can buy it should at least boycott the launch date. I garantee you it WILL make a difference.

Remember the consumer is always right.

You could also just… not buy it until the price goes down? Yall have other games you can play right

Just...... don't buy it? It's not that hard? I literally just watched a video about someone going through their steam wishlist seeking indie game devs that you could support with $450. Even if you've cleaned out your backlog of games, played them all a million times.... there's other options!!

The trick to life

The thing about that pain is it is said to never truly end. It is said to hold on, and on, and on. The thing is this pain, they say it is immortal, infinite. The grass grows green, and suffering sings seamlessly.

The thing about this pain is it never lets its grip on your soul get weaker. It is why it is almost myth when it is let go ; because letting it go is the only way for it to leave.

Suffering never tires, and thus it never ends. You only get the choice to get used to it, like skin growing over a collar, letting it go, or fighting it.

The latter of those choices is said to be the most heroic ; it is the Phoenix and the flame, the raised fist, the roar of a crowd. Hope and resistance are drawn as pure women and noble men,  driven by holy, gracious strength. And so, both of them become unobtainable, because there are no noble and pure heroes to bring us salvation, there is only you, only me : unholy and fragile.

When they tell this perfect story, they probably forget the first ever hope, the first ever love : it is the newborn's scream ; the beating of the small back, and that yell for new air. Hope is not the rising of the crowd : it is the pathetic child asking why. Resistance is deciding to answer.

Those little things, the fuel of the fight : they are the barest piece of your soul. The only reason you cannot see them is they are buried. Hope is the hidden gem ; hope is the digging through the soil to find it ; hope is the key, the trick, to life. Resistance is holding onto it.

You must remember it never ends because it cannot ; there is hope and love, or there is death. And if there is no death, then there is still hope ; because hope is the newborn's cry and the child asking why, and it is also you,  asking for another sip and swallowing another bite and taking another breath, another step. Hope and resistance are you, even without letting go of the pain, because you will not let go of life.

Hey!! I'm starting my little writing blog :D come by if you wanna check out my things :D
