Hi, I'm Griffin Raynor! I'm an author and editor from the US, and this is my writing and book tumblr! My main blog is @thatwitchrevan!

I write fiction, poetry, and fanfiction. My prose is often in the speculative genres. Currently I'm working on a novel and several short stories, with some other novels in development.

I'm happy to be included in tag games, and I'm always open for asks! If you reblog ask games from me, please try to send one as well! I don't do tag lists very often but if there's a particular wip or something you want to receive tags for let me know!

I have a short story in a wonderful indie anthology called Dark Cheer from Improbable Press! The anthology is two volumes of stories about humans interacting with cryptids, where comfort and compassion meets the unknown. My story 'A Heavy Hug' is about a shadow monster that lives in a young person's bedroom and keeps them company through their grief.

I also have two poems published in Paddler Press - 'Change' and 'Name Redacted' - which you can read in Volume Six here!

Three of my microfics have been adapted as an episode in the Tales from the Radiator podcast! You can find them here, and check out the rest of the amazing stories there!

Finally, I have a poetry chapbook available on itch.io and ko-fi. 'Marching On' is a 6k+ collection of poetry and flash fiction about spring, cycles, recovery, and rebirth. She's a messy passion project and my first ever collection and I'm so proud of her <3

This tag contains all the writing I've posted to this blog, this is my general talking tag, and here is my kofi!

ship so niche there's not even mediocre porn written about them on ao3 i will not make it out alive

it has never been more over

"be the change you want to see in the world" well I like enjoying other people's creations too I don't wanna be the only one in my lonely corner playing touys by myself

what I love about those timid handwringing “am I allowed to breathe air???” types is sometimes a miracle will happen and something in their brains will snap and you can watch them kill the hall monitor in their heads with a shovel

I just need a character who's so exhausted/injured and so relieved to see a loved one and they go in for a hug and just crumple against the other person, passing out in their arms, that would fix me

When a student copies an essay online instead of writing it and then painstakingly changes every word to a synonym until the text no longer makes any sense...

call that the Ship of Thesaurus

Any educator who doesn't feel this on a visceral level has never had to experience the psychic pain of reading the phrase "Unused York City."

A lecturer at Middlesex University in 2014, Chris Sadler, coined the term "Rogetism" for these. Perhaps the best:

I'm trying to hide my plagiarism but the clapping of my sinister buttocks keeps alerting the lecturer
