i think if you've ever thoughtlessly recommended "just do DIY" to a closeted trans girl, then you owe her $50 immediately
taking any HRT while closeted is already a huge risk to your safety* but DIY can add a bunch of complexity and extra things that you have to juggle. where will she get it delivered? will she be able to hide or store it safely without being found out? is the link you keep posting cryptocurrency-only for her country? can she safely do blood work every few months?
like don't get me wrong prescription HRT has its own set of logistical problems (particularly with obtaining it in the first place) but we can't act like DIY is a universal magic bullet to solve all HRT problems forever.
