I really would like to know what Elrond and Galadriel think about Thranduils decision, not to help the dwarves and arrest them. And not taking part in the upcoming war. I want to know if they´re judging him or do they understand him, because they know his past, and his loss about his father and his wife.
I think a conversation between them is very difficult, cause there two different kinds of persons involved. Elornd and Galadriel who are interested in retain the peace in middle earth and that without await any quid pro quo. In opposite of Thranduil, he seems to be that kind of guy, who helps if there´s a profit for him. However I think these conversation would be worth seeing[hearing]
Let me tell u a thing, Hobbit fandom: I’m getting pretty sick of the hate Tauriel is getting.
And I’m talking about a lot of hate here. It’s really disturbing and worrying to me, because it seems like most of this hate stems from one single fact: She’s a not-entirely-canon female character.
Before I begin talking about why she gets hate and why those “reasons” are ridiculous, I need to make one thing clear: I know there are some (very few, though) people who don’t like Tauriel only because she disrupts canon. Those people also have a problem with the alteration of Thorin, Kili and Fili’s appearances for marketing purposes, Radagast’s presence in first film, Azog, the way Bilbo greeted dwarves at Bag End and all the other things that are not canon. I can respect that. Being a “book purist” may seem annoying by some, but at least it’s genuine and not problematic.
I know that’s not the case with Tauriel. As boromirs so articulately pointed out, "I know enough to see the difference between genuine, reflective worry about Tauriel’s inclusion and backlash rooted in sexism."
Now let’s examine why Tauriel gets so much hate:
- She’s a woman and a warrior.
- She’s a romantic interest to a dwarf and to Legolas.
- She’s got red hair.
- She’s rebellious.
- She disrupts canon.
Does this cover it all? Alright, then.
