You know you’re a nerd when you’re reading a wonderfully written fanfiction and cringing because the author misspells a word in Mando’a.
Did I expect to watch Twisters and not fall in love with Tyler Owens? Yes. did I come out of the theater in love with him? Absolutely 🤭😌
We left the theatre and I looked at my sister-in-law and said “Okay, don’t take this in a creepy way because I adore my husband [her brother] but the only way that character could have been more my type is if Glen Powell wasn’t blond.”😂
We then proceeded to go home and rent Anyone But You and it’s been a very long time since I laughed that hard during a movie.
So today is Mando Monday, and it’s also the day that my fic, Be-All And Endor, has reached 1,500 kudos on AO3!
I’m still stunned it’s received this much attention, but it brings me such a sense of purpose to see people enjoying the story and taking time out to indulge in the little scenarios I wrote.
So thank you to everyone who helped me to reach this milestone; your support has been truly life-changing and means more to me than you will ever know 🧡💚
Be-All and Endor is genuinely one of the best works of fanfiction that I have ever read. It is the work that won me over to reader-insert fics. Jem’s thoughtful writing regular paints pictures, her characters are vibrant and realistic, the plot adds an originality that allows it to stand out in the fandom, and the pacing is flawless. This fic deserves so much more recognition than it’s gotten - I’ve read countless published works that are drastically inferior, and I don’t believe Jem even had a beta (I could be wrong there, I just don’t remember there being one). If anyone out there likes Star Wars - specifically The Mandalorian- and hasn’t read Be-All and Endor, run don’t walk!
Also as a fun little bonus, the chapter notes always have definitions/explanations of SWU terms and phrases, so a complete Star Wars newbie can keep up without feeling lost.
Casual reminder that Hunter is LITERALLY the person who brings a knife to a gun blaster fight.
What makes this even funnier? In this scene, Anakin says "Hunter, hold them off," and Hunter's response is to drop the blaster he's holding in exchange for his knife.
“That’s not a knife, THIS is a knife.”
Guys he even has the accent for it I’m dying🤣

Why is no one talking about the fact that the villain in The Acolyte can’t be a Sith? Obviously, the Sith still existed during this era, but the Jedi didn’t know that. In TPM Yoda says that the Sith have been extinct for a millennium. The Acolyte is roughly a hundred years before that comment is made. So unless they’re somehow going to hide this from the Council, which isn’t the direction it seems to be going in, this villain cannot canonically be a Sith.
That being said, can we talk about how much this villain looks like a Knight of Ren? We know Kylo Ren was obsessed with the past, and we also know that the Knights of Ren were an ancient order of Force wielders that went extinct are were resurrected by Kylo. We don’t know when they went extinct, meaning they could be active during High Republic. They are neither Jedi nor Sith. This could absolutely be the secret of this villain. The mask, the vocoder, the red saber - all the visuals point in that direction.
We all know Disney likes to draw connections (hello, the sheer amount of interconnected content we’ve gotten from 19-0 BBY), so it doesn’t seem far fetched to me that they would tie this show to the sequels by using it to give backstory for the KoR.
Disney, hire me as your Attachment Advisor, I will shove so many George Lucas quotes at your producers and writers, I will shove so many context-laden clips from the movies and TCW at your creatives, I will make powerpoint essays about how it's more Buddhist-aligned, not Attachment Theory-aligned, I will cite literally every time attachment has ever been discussed by Lucas AND in the show itself and show you that it's always aligned with fear, possessive feelings, and selfishness, I will do this work for you for free, I can even literally just point you to my Jedi Citations collection, DISNEY, HIRE ME AS YOUR ATTACHMENT ADVISOR, I CAN HELP YOU.
IF THEY HIRE YOU CAN I PLEASE BE YOUR ASSISTANT?!
This was my biggest complaint about the premiere. Not any of the other somewhat questionable decisions/line deliveries, etc. say it louder for the people in the back LOVE 👏🏻 AND 👏🏻 AFFECTION 👏🏻 DON’T 👏🏻 EQUAL 👏🏻 ATTACHMENT 👏🏻
This is such a basic and critical distinction, and it bugged me to no end that the writers are lumping them in together. I feel like we tend to write off what Anakin said about attachment and love in ATOTC because he was using it to justify his attachment. Anakin never found the balance, but what he said was sound. Jedi are encouraged to love and have compassion. It’s part of the Jedi code, as shown even in The Acolyte (hello, Osha trying to leave that dude on the ship and she literally can’t do it, she HAS to go back for him). Obi-Wan Kenobi is arguably one of the best Jedi we’ve ever seen in universe, and that man loves so deeply, it’s why everything fucking hurts him so much. Yet he maintains the balance of knowing how to let go, even if it hurts him to do it. He loved Anakin like a brother/son, yet was able to do what needed to be done on Mustafar because he was able to let go of him when he had to. Because he didn’t let that love control him. The Son (the literal embodiment of the Dark Side) told Anakin that if he was haunted by the fear of losing his love, that it wasn’t love but a prison. THAT is attachment. THAT is the danger of it, and why the Jedi can’t afford it. THAT is what led to the horrendous things Anakin did. That’s the contrast between love and attachment at its finest.
I really hope the writers don’t continue to make this mistake as a plot point, because there is a lot about the show that I am genuinely enjoying, and I think it has potential. I can just also see the potential for them to try to weaponize this stupid oversight for the purposes of “plot”.
star wars wants to cross a river but cannot swim, so it asks me to carry it across. i hesitate, afraid that star wars might sting me, but star wars promises not to, pointing out that it would drown if it killed me in the middle of the river. i consider this argument sensible and agree to transport star wars. midway across the river, star wars stings me anyway, dooming us both. dying, i ask star wars why it stung despite knowing the consequence, to which star wars replies: “i am sorry…it is my nature”
What it feels like being a HEA kind of girl but also a hardcore Star Wars fan…
Y’all know the feeling of sitting in front of your laptop for an extended period of time trying desperately to force words out of your brain, through your fingers, and onto the page because you’re bound and determined to write every day writers block be damned? That feeling? Y’all know the feeling when BAM it’s like the wall crashes down and suddenly you’ve written 1500 words in 20 minutes, a plot twist that you hadn’t planned on has made its presence known, and you feel like you ARE in fact a writer, you’re not just an imposter? Isn’t that the best feeling ever?
Never Look Down
Part 1: Din’s Evening
Prompt: “I don’t know what’s happening but I love it.”
Summary: Din has been ignoring his crush on Grogu’s babysitter for a while now, with varying degrees of success. But after a misunderstanding leads to some revelations, there’s no denying things any longer. Sometimes you just need to look at things from a different perspective.
Rating: Mature (18+) with a smidge of explicit
Pairing: Din Djarin x Original Female Character (for his POV scenes) / Din Djarin x Reader (for her POV scenes)
Word count: 5,330
Tags/warnings: alcohol, drunkenness, vomit (no description), numerous references to erections, some swearing, references to sex, non-explicit smutty thots, Din carries OFC a short distance, masturbation (male, semi-explicit, but I don’t think enough to push up the rating), 3rd person POV (part 2 will be 2nd person POV and OFC will become reader/you).
Author’s note: This was originally supposed to be for @beskarandblasters’ Din Djarin Fic Club Drabble Event, although drabble this is not! Kel said there was no word limit, but it grew so long that I couldn’t even call it a one-shot anymore, so I’m uploading it in two parts to make it easier to read and I think that probably disqualifies it from the Drabble Event. But Kel, thank you so much anyway for the prompt – it resulted in me finally pushing through my writer’s block and finishing/uploading something new, so I’m eternally grateful!
Thanks for the tag @djarins-cyare ! The characterization, sexual tension, and pacing were all absolutely on point, you’ve outdone yourself. So excited for part two next week. Everyone should go read this on AO3 pronto!
