update on cookie run kingdom: i am slowly beggining to believe that demons can take the form of computer software, and that the game is, in fact, a succubi-like demonic entity slowly feeding on my life energy... but instead of having sex with a hot demon lady its just a shitty gacha game with sort of interesting lore

anyways in honor of this person and their husband's vet med trauma or whatever i have decided to temporarily let harry out of the perfectly harry sized pot of boiling oil that ive kept him in for the past year. as you can see the first thing he did was take a nap because hes 13 years old and hes a tired little old man. the vet says hes in incredibly good shape for a dog of that age though so its ok.

unfortunately she also said that i cant be boiling him in oil anymore so i have to find a new way to torture him for all eternity... currently considering one of those metal container thingies full of spikes they used in the medieval ages but idk :// itll be hard to find one in his size

thoughts on cookie run kingdom so far:

  • why are all the colors so bright
  • my eyes hurt
  • owie
  • its suprisingly really easy to get the gems? in 3 days of playing i have obtained around 20k gems in total. unsure if the game trying to get new players hooked or if its always like that
  • i am completely un-entertained by the running levels.i am, however, having a LOT of fun with the kingdom building section of the game. which works out great for me since most of the pay-to-win aspects are seemingly tied to the running levels and the arena.
  • theres a weird ammount of body horror in this game?
  • it doesnt register right away, but its explicitly stated multiple times that jam and bread are to the cookies what blood and flesh are to us, but you can also make jam and bake bread...is there something that differences it from the blood and flesh of the cookies, or are they living in an ultrakill-style nightmare where blood and flesh are used as an energy source?
  • the game is both very consistent and also very nonchalant with its jam = blood bread = flesh allegory, its weird. at some point gingerbrave and his friends find what is very clearly meant to be the remains of a human cookie sacrifice and it never gets brought up again
  • the yuri event was very cute, i liked it. did not go the way i expected at all but im suprised it still ended up being yuri ("witch" is a female-only term in english, isnt it..?)
  • i do not care for pure vanilla or shadowmilk cookie theyre boring

Im really hoping we get to see more of the witches to be honest.. maybe we already do, im not super deep into the campaign because again, the gameplay's extremely fucking boring, but im kind of obsessed with the whole concept...

Like, they create the cookies to eat them. they see the cookies as food. But the cookies see them as these benevolent, deity-like beings. Running out of the oven is like, a part of being born to them, i think...like baby turtles rushing to the ocean, with nothing but primal instinct and the light of the moon to guide them. The cookies have seemingly developed all of these sacred beliefs around the witches but theyre food.

most of the cookies seem to be either unaware or fine with this? there's a few that are definitely aware of it-- strawberry cookie and white-lily cookie are aware of it, white-lily specifically walks in on the witches eating cookies and having a little hang-out sesh, and it causes her so much trauma that her soul like, splits in two or something. but pastry cookie and black forest cookie are also aware of the fact that they were only created as food, and instead of freaking out over it they still choose to worship the witches and offer human cookie sacrifices to them. and in the case of black forest cookie not only is she ok with the fact that shes food, shes like. really horny about it..,

nightmareish state of existence either way, but from the witches POV it must be really fucking funny
