April fool’s day dates back to 1582, when Pope Gregory XIII, introduced the Gregorian calendar.The new calendar would start on January 1st.

In ancient times, calendars were based on the "Vernal Equinox," so the new year was celebrated on or around April 1.

However, after Pope Gregory shifted the new year to January 1st, it is believed that many people refused to accept the drastic change and continued to follow the old calendar. That's the reason why people, started mocking them.

Those ancient ‘fools’ were not so foolish; it would make more sense for the calendar to be aligned with nature. Spring is the beginning of life, animals awaken from hibernation, bird migration returning to place of birth and it should mark the beginning of the year.

Marine Le Pen has refused to quit politics and warned that millions of voters have been disenfranchised after she was barred from running for president.

In her first comments since the Paris court ruling on Monday, the leader of the right-wing National Rally party said: “Let’s be clear: I was excluded, but it was millions of French people whose votes were excluded.”

Le Pen was found guilty of embezzlement and banned from running for five years with immediate effect.

In an interview with French television channel TF1, Le Pen criticised the verdict as a “political decision” and said the rule of law had been “completely broken”.

“Millions of French people are outraged. In France, a country of human rights, judges are applying the laws of an authoritarian regime,” Le Pen said, calling it “a tragic day for our democracy.”
