Chapter 5

Caitlyn pulled Vi in for a hug, tucking her head into the other girl's neck and unashamedly breathing in the smell of leather and horses.

She felt Vi chuckle and pulled back to see the pink haired girl smirking - not unkindly. 'Miss me?'

Caitlyn blushed, and pushed Vi away in mock exasperation. She rolled her eyes, but then Vi spoke again, softly.

' 'cause I missed you.'

They looked at each other for a moment's pause, before Vi caught Caitlyn's arm and pulled her close again, kissing her on the cheek; then the lips.

Any nerves Caitlyn had felt about seeing Vi again dissolved with that kiss, and they stood together, arms wrapped around each other in the cold until Caitlyn reluctantly pulled away. 'My parents-' she started, gesturing back at the house.

'Then let's get out of here.' Vi's voice came out husky, as she stole one more kiss before opening the car door for Caitlyn.

Caitlyn shuffled out from under the blanket and moved to kneel in front of Vi. She put her hand back on Vi's cheek. 'I know.' She leaned a little closer, tilting her head slightly, her voice barely a whisper. 'I'd really like to kiss you now, okay?'
