Rewatching shadow and bone and while I know it is a show, I still cant stop worrying about all these open flames 😭😭

Wylan I know you haven't been a full-time chemist for long and need light and the show was set in a time before safey was put first but PLEASE. Some are used to heat the chemicals I get that BUT NOT ALL OF THEM.

do you ever think about how Wylan probably couldn’t make much noise at home without becoming a target and how he took care of his flute anyway, he studied the music and cherished it and probably played only when he was sure no one would hear and he finally got to go to school for it, for the one thing that’s his and brings him joy, and they try to kill him. He never makes it and the first time he just plays and doesn’t care is on the streets of the barrel with a waterlogged instrument and soaked clothes but he had to save it because it was all he had left of himself

the fact that Jesper is written to have aspects of adhd beyond the "haha he can't focus" part a lot of people tend to reduce it to is genuinely so important to me. AND that those things actually affect him and his self esteem realistically. he's not reduced to dumb comic relief that has adhd because it's quirky and gets diversity points, he's an actual character, and his adhd is an actual part of him, not a label they slapped on to make him more relatable.

he has time blindness, he's impulsive, he stims/fidgets (and i mean actually fidgets), he's forgetful, he has rsd, he has emotional dysregulation, and he has an addiction (people with untreated adhd are more likely to develop addictions because of under stimulation and seeking dopamine). he is a vibrant, real character, with real struggles that i relate to so deeply. he will always be so very special to me.
