if i was knowingly stuck in a time loop (like, fully aware and retained complete memory of each loop) the first thing i would do is ascertain if my entire body was being persisted or just my brain - easiest way i can think of is to cut one of my fingernails shorter than the others and see if their lengths match again in the morning.

if i can determine that the rest of my body is being persisted, that means i'm aging while the rest of the world is resetting, so i gotta get out quick or i'll end like bart in that one halloween episode.

if it turns out only my mind persists and my body resets though, i'm straight chillin for a while. perfect opportunity to watch every film and try every dish i can get my hands on - i can't unwatch a movie or forget the taste of food, but any money i spend comes right back to me at the end of the day. plus, no risk of food poisoning.

eventually i'd get bored and want to play videogames without my progress resetting, but given a potentially infinite amount of time to improve my mind, i'd probably not give it up too easily and mitigate the progress problem by taking up speedrunning.

i’m going to hold your hands when i say this and i am only going to be kind about it once: ai does not belong in fandom spaces, ever. not in writing, not in art, not in video, not at all. it does not matter how bad you want to see your favourite characters kiss, or how much you need a bit of help finishing a chapter, or whatever.

make friends with artists. commission somebody. learn to draw yourself. ask for a beta read. try a writing partnership. fandom spaces are communities, so engage with them! it is about the journey and the fact that we all love something enough to create and build together about that thing.

spending 30 seconds to kill a tree and get an AI to push out some soulless empty piece of “content” is antithetical to the entire point of being engaged with fandom, and if you’ve taken to doing this you should really reconsider if you belong in these spaces with the rest of us.
